Panasonic has returned to their roots with their Lumix DMC-FX200 super zoom camera. Gone are the days of lenses that get slower as you use more zoom power - the FZ200 can stay at F2.8 from 25 to 600 mm.

Good quality at a budget price
I took it to a concert the same day I bought it and was impressed with the quality of the pics taken in the low light. Noise was at an acceptable level and the clarity of the shots was great. The rotating screen at the back made it easy for me to shoot above the crowd and follow the action.- Easy to use

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200
While compact system cameras represent the fastest growing segment of the digital camera market, superzoom sales are also especially healthy – and extremely competitive too. This, in turn, has increased the pressure on manufacturers to deliver ever more feature-packed and highly specified models.- Constant f/2.8 maximum aperture
- Excellent build quality and good handling
- Impressive image quality
- Lack of eye sensor can be a pain
- EVF could be larger
Very good, but not perfect
Image quality is good. It's not as good as my Nikon D800, but it's also a lot less expensive. Putting a lens this long on my D800 would cost 10 grand and weigh 12 pounds. When the D800 is too much, this camera steps in and takes over. I'm getting used to it and my photos are improving.- F28 All The Way
- Good image quality
- Long Lens F28
Amazing camera
CHeck out Graham Houghton's videos on Youtube. Great way to learn about the intracies of the camera. Great way to learn without using a PDF manual.- Easy to use menu system
- Nice Iq
- No Need For Multiple Lens
- Zoom W 28 Fixed
- No touch screen
- Small sensor
One of the best "point and shoot" cameras
There are so many great features on this camera, comparable to the DSLR I had to sell and even some additional ones such as panorama. The grip is comfortable and solid in your hand which is important since this is a light camera, an advantage to me as it makes it easy to carry around on an all day...- Grip is comfortable and solid in your hand
- Larger capacity battery
- Focus and zoom are very good
- Image stabilization is excellent
- Dynamic range is a bit narrow
- Bit of noise - even at lowest ISO 100 and cannot get anything below ISO 100
Very good camera
Casual user hoping to become enthusiast, so learning to use it. Can be complex if you go out of auto mode, but worth the trouble to get better quality photos. Nice constant f/2.8 lens to equivalent 600 mm zoom worth the lower optical zoom (24x). Also, don't have to carry multiple lens as in a DSLR.- Fast/accurate auto-focus
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- Good in Low Light
- Great Zoom
- High Res Viewfinder
- Large Clear LCD
- Nice Body Color
- Short Lag Time
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 Review
You will like this prosumer camera for the variety of shooting scenarios it will work in, but not its steep price tag.- The Panasonic Lumix's body has options to add an additional flash unit and an external microphone
- The camera's design makes it impossible to access the battery and SD card slots when you're using a tripod
It's overall a good camera, nice to use and an excellent compromise between zoom range, luminosity, image quality... the movies look really nice, as long as there's enough ambient light.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ200 falls into our "superzoom" category, boasting a 25-600mm (35mm equivalent) lens, which surpassed the rest of the super zoom category in terms of lens quality.
