The FZ200 was - for me - like meeting an old friend after so many years. He has evolved in those years and now he is somewhat more of an adult. There are some things still where you have to say that he still can grow but overall, he's a much better man.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 Review
If you have the budget for an entry-level DSLR camera and are contemplating whether a prosumer-class camera with a good zoom lens would be a better idea, then the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 might sound more convincing.
Panasonic Lumix FZ200 review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200
With the ability to shoot raw files plus a long zoom and a bright lens, this larger-than-average superzoom has a lot to offer.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 review Review
The big draw here is the FZ200's long lens and, in particular, the maximum aperture of f/2.8 at everything between 25mm and 600mm equivalent focal lengths.- Bright lens
- Long zoom
- Excellent movie soundtracks
- Good button layout
- Noise at high sensitivities
- Some fudging of fine detail in very complex shots
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 review
Bridge cameras occupy a strange place in the camera market. Travel-zoom compacts now have extraordinary zoom lenses, manual shooting modes and sometimes raw shooting, while compact system cameras (CSCs) also offer a smaller, lighter and often cheaper alternative to a DSLR.
It's a suitable back-up camera for your DSLR, or could even be your primary camera if you just want to shoot holidays and other pictures to share online or make small prints for your photo albums.
Panasonic Lumix FZ200 review
Bridge cameras are perhaps sometimes unfairly dismissed as not being tools for 'proper photographers'. Perhaps what this niche has needed is a newcomer to storm onto the scene with a specification list that will make all the dedicated DSLR users out there do a double-take.
