Loving this camera
I downgraded from a Nikon D7000 and before that a Nikon D90 because of medical issues that caused the weight to be an issue. I had to buy it without seeing it first and I was hesitant to do that. I read many reviews which is why I'm writing this one. At first I thought I might return it.- Fast/accurate auto-focus
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- Good in Low Light
- Great Zoom
- Large Clear LCD
- Love The Moveable Lcd Scr
- Nice Body Color
- Short Lag Time
- Small / Compact
- Tripod Use Limits Access
SLR functionality with a high end lens
The advantage this camera offers over anything else I have seen with an f2.8 aperture all the way from 25mm to 600mm, appears to be a technological breakthrough. Most telephotos only go down to f5 or f6 at the longer ranges.- High end quality, reliable brand, perhaps one of the fastest telephotos available with f2.8 at the full 600mm zoom
- Well laid out controls, most if not all of the functionality of a good DSLR. Double the zoom of most DSLR lenses, at a larger aperture.
- DSLR's generally have larger image sensors
- and higher megapixel count
- which together can equate to better quality pictures at the outer limits of photography
- if used with equivalent or better quality lenses
Originally I was hesitant to spend this kind of money on a p & s camera but the FZ200 has more than lived up to the hype. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It does everything exceedingly well.

The camera is best in this range and has a ton of features. Pros: 1.The best part is it maintains constant f2.8 aperture which enables you to take good images even at high zoom 2.The 24x zoom feature is the best, you don't need more, but still using intelligent mode you can reach upto 96x zoom 3.The...- Easy To Use

Good Travel Camera
This camera is ideal for travel. It possesses enough features to keep most enthusiasts engaged. Image quality is good for such a small sensor and auto focus is good enough for most travel situations. Although it is relatively small and light, it is bulky but not enough to put you off.- Durable

Lucky break
After purchasing and sending back 4 (four) identical but defective copies of the same camera (all made in China), inspired by an exceptional Japanese made early model (of the DMC-FZ200), this Chinese made piece turned out to be very close in performance to the original, so far...
Feature rich, affordable price.
I think this camera gives me the most features that are important to me at the most reasonable price. It has many more features than I'll ever use, but as I get more comfortable with it, I'm sure I'll venture deeper into the feature set. It simply takes great pictures.- Easy To Use
- Fast/accurate auto-focus

- Large Clear LCD

Great camera at a great price
Upgraded from a Lumix FZ150 and the f/2.8 lens is a real plus. Light weight, easy to carry and uses the same battery as my Lumix G5. So it's a very capable backup to the G5 and very useful when I don't want to change lens or carry more gear. The current Panasonic price of $249 is a steal in my book.
Another good one
This one is a replacement for one I sold in a weak moment. The first was made in Japan, and the new one was made in China. If anything, this one is slightly better. I have owned quite a few "bridge" style superzooms, and except for my FZ1000, this is the best.
