basic
Basic good cheap. No it is NOT a disposable camera but it has to go places where it is going to get bashed or worse but it will be used. Having said that it swallowed its battery needs recharging.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20
Panasonic has an unusual position in the digital camera market. While most other manufacturers have both premium and budget ranges, the Japanese electronics giant has ignored the lower end of the scale and concentrated on high-price, high spec compacts.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 Review
Each step up in the FS series gives you clear resolution, screen, and/or zoom improvements, and while these are key upgrades rather than feature bloat, at $50 a jump MSRP, these steps aren't exactly cheap to climb. At less than $200, the FS3 played the part of a much more expensive camera.
Pros:
- Thoroughly impressive lens sharpness
- Wide-angle range more than most
- Good color
- minimal processing
- Noise reduction
- if don't mind it
Cons:
- Noise reduction
- if you find it intrusive
- Battery life may not be enough for some
- Questionable flash pictures
- Too much price premium for too few upgrades

10 mpixels but picture quality is like cell phones. Ordinary camera. Very deep noise at pictures. There is better cameras in same class.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 compact camera
Review Think of digital cameras and names like Canon, Sony and Pentax come to mind. But Panasonic is proving to be a dark horse, releasing models with impressive looks and good performance.

Great for The Price
Overall, I am happy the price. I saw it the same model in a local store for way more than what I paid.
Pros:
- Easy to use
- Came with all accessories to include case and 2GB SD Card with bonus package
- Clear video @ 848 x 480
- Nice for everyday uses
Cons:
- Video format is QuickTime
- Eventhough that I used open as WMP, it still ran slow and kept on breaking

In addition to the powerful Intelligent Auto Mode, the fourth generation high-performance image-processing Venus Engine IV LSI helps produce higher-quality pictures with an advanced signal processing system.

A good camera, but....
Before you get into this, please note that the 4 stars above should really be 3 and a half. I bought this camera as a replacement for my Casio Exilim EX-Z750, which was damaged by sand. I did a lot of research, and was almost set to buy the Canon SD870 IS, largely for the wide angle.
