Panasonic Lumix S5 review

Panasonic has clearly learned its lessons from the criticisms made of its original full-frame mirrorless cameras. The Panasonic S5 blends a full-frame sensor with a small, but ergonomic, body. The result is a camera that should appeal to a wide variety of creators – with a good range of video specs, it's a fantastic hybrid that comes highly recommended.

Small size and weight; Good range of controls; Excellent video specifications;

No full-sized HDMI port; Large lenses affect compact size; Lacks best-in-class autofocus

Great Versatile Camera For Content Creation

I use this as my primary camera for shooting Youtube videos and creating content for brands as I can just hit record and it will keep recording until i stop it or the card fills up so i don't have to worry about it stopping after 30 mins! The video footage and photos aways looks amazing and the kit lens is really versatile. Only cons I can think of is the tethered app doesn't show audio levels (please add this panasonic! :) ) and the colours look different in the app than the finished product but this might be an issue with my computer not the app, I'm not sure yet.

Highly Recommend!

As someone who requires an "all-rounder" camera for photo and video content in my day to day life, I really couldn't recommend the Panasonic LUMIX S5 highly enough. The video and photo footage I've taken has been second to none. Also, it's compact size makes for the perfect camera when travelling too!

Easily my favorite camera I've ever used.

I've used Lumix cameras for the best aprt of a decade for my professional youtube content creation, inside the studio and in the world, and they've NEVER let me down. The S5 is the best Body yet, and the Kit lens is WONDERFULLY flexible for all kinds of filming.

Best hybrid value Full frame camera on the market

I use it mainly for commercial video purposes. But also a handy travel camera too because of the weight and size. A great option for those looking to upgrade from micro 4/3s cameras and want the options for professional use.

Panasonic Lumix S5 Mirrorless Camera with 20-60mm Lens - Brand New review

Panasonic Lumix S5 has the perfect balance between features and ease of use, and is one of the best buys in the full format class.

Superb detail sharpness with good color reproduction, sharp 4K video and complete ergonomics. Favorably priced full format.

Not among the fastest, following focus still a bit behind the best.

Panasonic Lumix S5 Mirrorless Camera with 20-60mm Lens - Brand New review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Panasonic Lumix S5 Mirrorless Camera with 20-60mm Lens - Brand New review

Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.

Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better

Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue

Panasonic Lumix S5 review: The full-frame 4K master

This well-made and compact full-frame camera doesn't cost a whole lot more than the Micro Four Thirds video champ: the GH5. And it's cheaper than its larger-scale full-frame sibling: the Lumix S1. So, whichever way you look at it, the Lumix S5 is fantastic value for money for video-makers.

Compact for a full-frame camera; Great design and build; Relatively affordable for its spec and performance; Reliable autofocus/people tracking; Charges via USB-C; Two SD card slots;

4K60p crops down to APS-C; Focus selector button could be easier to adjust; Only one of the SD card slots is UHS-II;

Panasonic Lumix S5 Mirrorless Camera with 20-60mm Lens - Brand New review

Hannah Stryker / Review Geek The iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device. Since its launch, the iPhone has set the standard of what a smartphone is, what it does, and how it looks. Fifteen years later, it’s still doing that.

Top-notch cameras, Amazing display, Snappy performance, Great battery life

It's just "this year's iPhone"
