Panasonic HC-X920 camcorder
Any company making camcorders has its work cut out these days. The whole sphere of producing video has changed so much in recent years that there's only room for a couple of companies to have a crack of the whip, and actually make any money. Panasonic is one of the brands that has endured though.
Pros:
- Fantastic picture quality
- compact
- Wi-Fi modes are helpful
- lovely to use
Cons:
- Wi-Fi app can be a bit flaky
- quite expensive
- compact cameras offer a lot of the features
- Wi-Fi is a battery killer

Instead of offering radically improved performance and design, the HC-X920 builds only slightly on its predecessor, offering better low-light sensitivity, a few extra controls, and WiFi.

Panasonic HC-X920
We always have to wait for CES to end before the new camcorder ranges arrive, and Panasonic is usually first off the blocks once the bonanza of product announcements in Las Vegas is over.
Pros:
- Class-leading image quality
- Manual controls including lens focus ring
- Extensive new WiFi features
Cons:
- Optional 3D just as limited as previous flagship model
