Good
I bought this partially hoping to reduce the number of remotes. Recently I bought a Panasonic TV and thought the remote from my TV would work the basic functions of the Panasonic Blu-Ray. Wrong. So I ended up buying a Logitech Harmony 650 which did the job. [...

great cheap blu ray
Bought this for my husband as he kept buying blu ray movies instead of DVDs (ya not very techy). It was easy to install and works great. Haven't tried the wireless part of it yet as our router not working properly. Highly recommend as a basic blu ray with many options.

Simple and works
I purchased 15 of these in a pinch and I have had really good luck with them. I am VERY grateful that Panasonic reverted back to their older remote design. I had many complaints about their touch style remote. It loads quick and runs quiet.
Pros:
- Quick Loading And Quiet
Cons:
- none

Great
I am very happy with this. Haven't tried out the Multi Region as yet -but it arrived in great time and I am pleased with the ability to use the smart network. It is a great quality picture which is why I bought it!

Panasonic produce good alternatives to cable/satellite providers with apps via HDMI output. Wifi /Ethernet required
Panasonic Blu-Ray with Smart TV features is great. Wifi or Ethernet connection is required, but the player for DVD's is excellent, sends out via HDMI cable (not included) the very best picture to your TV .

Panasonic DMP-BDT230
Panasonic has been knocking out excellent Blu-ray players since the advent of the format and has more recently been embracing the Smart TV revolution with some relish. These days, it's no longer enough to produce players capable of simply providing pristine high definition pictures, they need to do...
Pros:
- Effecive
- faithful playback
- Decent smart features
- The price is right
Cons:
- Can be a bit noisy
- Netflix app a bit slow

A decent Blu-ray player marred by ads
The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 is a mostly solid Blu-ray player, except it serves up obnoxious ads in its onscreen interface.
Pros:
- The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 offers excellent Blu-ray and DVD image quality
- Its selection of streaming services is good and it's a relatively inexpensive player
Cons:
- Advertising is built in to several of the menus, including undefeatable video ads in the app marketplace
- The menu system can be a little perplexing at first and it's easy to hit the Netflix button on the remote by accident.

Great Blu-ray picture, terrible reliability.
Wifi adapter is internal, setup stated wifi connection failed due to removal of wifi adapter. When searching for networks, none are detected.
Pros:
- Great image quality
Cons:
- Software locks up often
- Unable to turn on/off on occasion
- WiFi failed after 1 week of use
- UI is clunky: wife and daughter hate it

Be prepared to see sponsored ads in the menu!
Panasonic go to great lengths to tell you about the specifications of this DVD player except for the fact that they have sponsored ads they promote written right into the DVD's menu! Tyson Chicken, tire ads, etc. etc. To add insult to injury, the online support says there's no way to turn them off!
Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Easy to use
Cons:
- sponsored ads in the player's menu

Remote is PAINFUL
The iPhone-like touch screen remote is simply painful to use. This is the primary reason I returned this unit. Difficult to access subtitles. Have to drill down through several menus and ONLY after a program begins to play. Cannot turn subtitles on by default.
Pros:
- Plays Bd Discs L
Cons:
- Awful Touch Screen Remote
- Bad Subtitle Support
- No Usb 30 Support
