Be prepared to see sponsored ads in the menu!
Panasonic go to great lengths to tell you about the specifications of this DVD player except for the fact that they have sponsored ads they promote written right into the DVD's menu! Tyson Chicken, tire ads, etc. etc. To add insult to injury, the online support says there's no way to turn them off!- Inexpensive
- Easy to use
- sponsored ads in the player's menu
Panasonic DMP-BDT230
Panasonic has been knocking out excellent Blu-ray players since the advent of the format and has more recently been embracing the Smart TV revolution with some relish. These days, it's no longer enough to produce players capable of simply providing pristine high definition pictures, they need to do...- Effecive
- faithful playback
- Decent smart features
- The price is right
- Can be a bit noisy
- Netflix app a bit slow
Smart Blu-ray, Good Price
Have owned this player for 2 months and it's perfect. My tv is an older LCD so it's not "smart" but this blu-ray player turns it into a "smart" tv. I love that I can put a flash drive into the usb on the front, and the buttons are well-placed on the top edge of the player.
A decent Blu-ray player marred by ads
The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 is a mostly solid Blu-ray player, except it serves up obnoxious ads in its onscreen interface.- The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 offers excellent Blu-ray and DVD image quality
- Its selection of streaming services is good and it's a relatively inexpensive player
- Advertising is built in to several of the menus, including undefeatable video ads in the app marketplace
- The menu system can be a little perplexing at first and it's easy to hit the Netflix button on the remote by accident.
Panasonic DMP-BDT230 review
In the world of Blu-ray players, you get what you pay for, and if you're after the very best in Full HD detail, Panasonic is definitely the brand to head for. As such, the Japanese manufacturer's mid-range DMP-BDT230 could be star of the show this year.
Panasonic DMP-BDT230EB Smart 3D Blu-ray Disc/DVD Player
the looks of the unit are good playing blue ray DVDs great, the problems start when you try play 3D DVDs the unit keeps freezing, only way out is to pull plug, this is the second DVD player so Panasonic must have a problem
Great Blu-ray picture, terrible reliability.
Wifi adapter is internal, setup stated wifi connection failed due to removal of wifi adapter. When searching for networks, none are detected.- Great image quality
- Software locks up often
- Unable to turn on/off on occasion
- WiFi failed after 1 week of use
- UI is clunky: wife and daughter hate it
Simple and works
I purchased 15 of these in a pinch and I have had really good luck with them. I am VERY grateful that Panasonic reverted back to their older remote design. I had many complaints about their touch style remote. It loads quick and runs quiet.- Quick Loading And Quiet
- none
Panasonic DMP-BDT230EB Black - Smart Network Blu-Ray Player with Built-in WiFi, 3D & External HDD Playback, 1x HDMI and 2x USB Ports
Very pleased with the DVD part - easy to set up and good remote control. Haven't tried the wifi bit yet but it did set up with no problems.
