A decent Blu-ray player marred by ads
The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 is a mostly solid Blu-ray player, except it serves up obnoxious ads in its onscreen interface.
Pros:
- The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 offers excellent Blu-ray and DVD image quality
- Its selection of streaming services is good and it's a relatively inexpensive player
Cons:
- Advertising is built in to several of the menus, including undefeatable video ads in the app marketplace
- The menu system can be a little perplexing at first and it's easy to hit the Netflix button on the remote by accident.

Smart Blu-ray, Good Price
Have owned this player for 2 months and it's perfect. My tv is an older LCD so it's not "smart" but this blu-ray player turns it into a "smart" tv. I love that I can put a flash drive into the usb on the front, and the buttons are well-placed on the top edge of the player.

Panasonic DMP-BDT230
Panasonic has been knocking out excellent Blu-ray players since the advent of the format and has more recently been embracing the Smart TV revolution with some relish. These days, it's no longer enough to produce players capable of simply providing pristine high definition pictures, they need to do...
Pros:
- Effecive
- faithful playback
- Decent smart features
- The price is right
Cons:
- Can be a bit noisy
- Netflix app a bit slow

Be prepared to see sponsored ads in the menu!
Panasonic go to great lengths to tell you about the specifications of this DVD player except for the fact that they have sponsored ads they promote written right into the DVD's menu! Tyson Chicken, tire ads, etc. etc. To add insult to injury, the online support says there's no way to turn them off!
Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Easy to use
Cons:
- sponsored ads in the player's menu

Panasonic DMP-BDT230 Blu-ray Player
Last time I looked at a Blu-ray player from Panasonic it was their DMP-BDT210 model. It had almost everything I wanted in a Blu-ray player: perfect image performance, fast loading times, and a good deal of streaming content.

great cheap blu ray
Bought this for my husband as he kept buying blu ray movies instead of DVDs (ya not very techy). It was easy to install and works great. Haven't tried the wireless part of it yet as our router not working properly. Highly recommend as a basic blu ray with many options.

Panasonic DMP-BDT230 3D Blu-ray Player Review
(4 out of 5) Performance (4.5 out of 5) Value Panasonic's 2013 Blu-ray line includes four new models: the 3D-capable DMP-BDT330 and DMP-BDT230, and the 2D-only DMP-BD89 and DMP-BD79. Last year's DMP-BDT500 and DMP-BBT01 will also remain in the lineup as the company's top-shelf players.

The DMP-BDT230 hits the major points we look for in a Blu-ray player: good A/V performance, good speed and reliability, and a good assortment of features for its $120 asking price.

Good
I bought this partially hoping to reduce the number of remotes. Recently I bought a Panasonic TV and thought the remote from my TV would work the basic functions of the Panasonic Blu-Ray. Wrong. So I ended up buying a Logitech Harmony 650 which did the job. [...
