Oppo Reno 4Z 5G review

The Oppo Reno4 Z 5G is a strong all-rounder that gives you 5G, a 120Hz display, and a competent camera for not much money. However, there are plenty of rivals that do similar things for the same or less.

120Hz display; Decent Night mode; Good performance;

No AMOLED; No all-screen design; Battery hit hard by media;

Oppo Reno 4 Z review: Affordable 5G

A capable phone that won't let you down in all the ways that really matter. It'll snap a photo, let you play pretty much any of your favourite games, and go all day without an issue. But even at this end of the market it's not hugely competitive.

Affordable price point for a 5G phone; 3.5mm headphone port; Attractive design; Reliable performance and battery;

Similarly priced phones are more competitive; Quad camera without any real benefit; Smudges quite badly front and back;

So far so good

Only had this a day but thought I'd review for others. So far it's a great device. Having owned Oppos in the past this is as good as any. Quick snappy phone, easy transfer of old phone to new. Great big clear screen. Comes with screen protector pre-installed. Photos and videos are good with night photos much better. Maybe not up to Samsungs quality though. The rear camera looks cool very iphone-esk . Coming from a Reno Z the main difference I can see is the 5g capability, photo quality and slight processing speed improvements and cosmetic differences, if this isn't something u need may not be worth the upgrade. Both use C type plugs, have NFC, dual Sim, good battery life, facial recognition, fingerprint sensors and all the similar apps and services. No expandable memory still. One con I'm not too fond of is the fingerprint sensor, now moved to the side edge button. Little odd I feel but I'll get used to it. Also while it comes with a clear standard phone case, it may be the only option

This phone is okay

I have had this phone for 3 days now. There are some pros and cons I'm experiencing. Coming from a Pixel 2, this phone does no doubt feel cheaper in the hand. There is some lag I'm experiencing every now and then. where I have had to restart apps, and the phone dialer occasionally lags significantly when dialling numbers. I find the fingerprint sensor on the side to not immediately work 100% of the time, although the facial recognition works really well. A con for me is that you cannot seem to awake the lock screen by tapping the phone, only by clicking the side unlock button. The screen is large and the display is great, although the double camera cut out on the front is taking some getting used to. The battery life is great, and charges quickly. No issues with the Camera either just yet, seems to work well. Overall this phone is fine, not amazing 5 star material though.

Oppo Reno4 Z 5G smartphone Review - 5G phone with good main camera

Preferences without flexibility. Oppo launches a low-priced 5G phone with the Reno4 Z 5G. A 120 Hz display and a price of around 300 Euros (~$300) seem attractive, but we take a closer look in our detailed review of the Chinese smartphone.

The Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G offers a 120 Hz screen for just under 300 Euros, but it is not too bright and a...

a lot of RAM; snappy 120 Hz display; relatively light; good main camera; high performance; decent battery life;

high temperature rise under load; moderate quality in wide-angle and front camera; Blue cast in the display;
