[REVIEW-OLYMPUS TOUGH TG-820]
This 12 megapixel "indestructible" compact camera has a 5X zoom lens (28–140mm film equivalent). The handsome body comes in red and black. It will withstand a 2m drop (onto carpet or concrete?) and is waterproof to 10m. It is also dustproof and will operate down to -10 degrees.

The Olympus TOUGH TG-820 features a very useful thumb plate, and all the controls are grouped around the OK button, making for a very intuitive menu system, although scrolling through the options could be a little faster.

As an Olympus lover, I was quite disappointed in this camera. I ended up selling it less than a month after buying it and getting a Panasonic DSC-TS3 instead. Overall the Olympus delivers on the basic promise of ruggedness and photo quality, but misses on ease of use both with the physical...

- battery and memory card door lock

Olympus TOUGH TG-820 Digital Camera Review
The search for the perfect waterproof digital camera moves on once more, for despite its impressive performance the TG-820's image quality misses the mark. There's undoubtedly value to having a go-anywhere camera like those in the TOUGH series, and it was a lot of fun playing with its underwater...

Really nice camera that can withstand almost anything. Has long been a forerunner of this (My 770SW). TG820 is better in every way; better pictures ..... light years better video recording & more settings + better / smarter built (with only one door and double lock on it).

Olympus Tough TG-820
The TG-810 is a fine, tough camera, if you need the meanest, most rugged model out there. Its high ISO performance leaves a lot to be desired, but it's perfectly suitable for the most extreme circumstances for photography.
Pros:
- Bright and clear LCD screen
- Decent image quality at low ISO levels
- Incredibly rugged
Cons:
- High ISO images are messy
- HD video not as impressive as still images

Olympus Tough TG-820
Tough cameras are unlikely to win any beauty pageants, given their rugged, bulging construction - but the TG-820, in its cherry-red finish, certainly spices up the category. Featuring a sliding metal flap, which covers the 5x optical zoom lens, the front panel is utilitarian and industrial in...
Pros:
- Bright and clear LCD screen
- Decent image quality at low ISO levels
- Incredibly rugged
Cons:

Olympus Tough TG-820
Olympus has long been a pioneer of the ruggedised camera concept, with the company's early Mju models among the very first digital compacts to offer basic weatherproofing – a theme Olympus built upon with the introduction of the 'Tough' series a few years ago.
Pros:
- Built like a tank for active outdoors use
- Easy to use with gloves thanks to Tap Control
- Takes a half decent snap in good light
- Pin-sharp rear LCD monitor
Cons:
- Image quality suffers at higher ISO settings
- Wrist strap could do with beefing up
