Tough camera with excellent image quality when using the RAW format; Ideal for using in poor weather or rough terrain

Lack of auto exposure bracketing; The built-in HDR function produces a JPEG image; Using 3 or 5 RAW images and producing a resultant HDR image in, e.g., Lightroom would give much higher image quality

Olympus Tough TG-5

This sadly is one of those occasions where the launch bears no resemblance to the availability of review samples, so while I was ready to go when the launch came my memory of exactly what the camera can do was somewhat dimmed by the time taken for one to arrive which means the time required to...

Olympus Tough TG-5 Review: The New Underwater Camera King

The TG-5 provides you with a versatile fill flash, which can improve images even in decent lighting situations, like in this group portrait of my wife, daughter and son. Like the Nikon Coolpix W300, I didn't notice any conspicuous distortion (barrel or pincushion distortion) at images shot at either...

Wide range of versatile features and modes; Menus; dials and controls offer multiple access points to settings; Impressive macro features; Can capture slow-motion video at HD resolution; Includes ability to capture RAW image files

Struggles in low-light situations; Menu structure is somewhat confusing; Zoom mechanism produces noise during video capture

Love it!

I bought this camera for macro photography (to take pictures of small things close up) and it did not disappoint. I've also used it in the water a few times and it works great. I love the wifi feature, it works great on my phone.

So far so good

I bought this camera online a few weeks ago for my daughter for her 18th birthday. So far, she is loving it. Great feature to be able to send photos taken straight to your phone through WiFi. Delivery was prompt and faultless.

I got this camera to take on holiday instead of my Nixon which took up all my hand luggage and I had to be careful with. I have only taken this on one trip so far but it worked perfectly. I took some night city shots and was very pleased with the results. The micro mode is good.

It does as I wished and so compact

I can recommend this fabulous camera, great value at JLP. GPS, good light/focus sensor and brilliant clarity when viewed on laptop. Large prints for A4 prints no problem. Just what I needed for my new granddaughter.

Great pictures, great flexibility

With the F-Con & T-Con you have ultra-wide (19mm) to medium-tele (170mm), they even found a way to put on a ring-flash for macro! This is the ultimate walk-around notebook-cam for later shots with the DSLR.
