Olympus TG-310

After several years of faithful service, the Olympus 'µ' (sometimes written 'mju') has bowed out and given way to a series of boring old letters.
Pros:
  • Waterproof to 3 m
  • shockproof to 1.5 m coldproof to -10 °C
  • Low launch price but decent tech specs
  • Picture quality is perfectly acceptable
  • especially in wide-angle shots
Cons:
  • The feel of the buttons
  • Picture quality isn't so good in telephoto
  • Slow to charge with USB charger
  • Low-def screen that goes dark when viewed from below

Olympus Underwater Camera

I had the earlier version of this (the one in the TV advert that the toddler kicked around the garden)and that was pretty good - great for snorkelling (video too!) and OK as a normal camera. Eventually it got too battered, so we got this one.

This camera is not practical, and has broken after about one year of use. I was not particularly carefull whit it, but i bough it because of the "TOUGH" mention. After 3 or 4 falls of less than 1.5m, it gaves me error messages then black screen. So, bought another model if you want tough device.

The Olympus TOUGH TG-310 is an entry-level rugged camera that's perfect for the beach and any other general outdoor adventure. It can survive drops from 1.5m and can withstand underwater pressure down to 3m. It's also dust-proof and freeze-proof, but not scratch-proof.
