[REVIEW-OLYMPUS TG-1 TOUGH]
This 12mp camera with its bright f2–4.9 zoom (25–100mm) can be dropped two metres, submerged to twelve, frozen to -10 and sat on without doing any harm. (We didn't test the claims!) The handsome body is also dust proof, so you can take it to the Sahara or up Everest.

Olympus TG-1 iHS First Look Review
Olympus cameras are no strangers to unfriendly terrains. The Tough series of point-and-shoots have been snapping away in unforgiving weather conditions for years. Up 'til now, rugged cameras from every major manufacturer have been good at surviving the elements but have generally come up short in...

Olympus Tough TG-1 iHS
The Olympus Tough TG-1 waterproof digital compact camera looks and feels like it should -- rugged and ready to take on the elements. It's also incredibly fast -- in both the bright f/2.0 lens and in autofocus, startup and shot-to-shot times, but image quality suffers a little more than we'd like,...
Pros:
- Solidly built camera that screams quality and substance
- Good grip makes it easy to handle and shoot underwater
- Bright
- fast f/2.0 wide-angle lens with slow
- precise 4x zoom
- Equipped with a physical Mode dial
- Large (3-inch)
- bright (perhaps too bright!

- Moderate distortion at wide angle
- OLED monitor tends to clip highlights and washout midtones
- plus colors are unrealistic

Olympus TG-1 Tough Compact Camera Review: Meet The Perfect Summer Sidekick
Every summer as you pack your bags for the beach, gear up for a festival or saddle up for a barbecue, you look at your camera and think one of two things depending on what you own: it's either too big and chunky to take, or it's too small and fragile to expect to get back.

Olympus Tough TG-1
Announced back in 2012, the Olympus Tough TG-1 is one of the toughest Olympus cameras ever released. This camera is OK if you just want to put pix on the internet, email to your friends, or print small versions. But if you want a surf picture to hang on your wall, forget it. The fast, long burst is great, but it doesn't do any good if most of your pictures are soft and noisy, or coated with blue...
Pros:
- Very good burst rate, good auto WB and color
- Design and menus are good
- Good functionality overall
Cons:
- Very poor IQ for any print over 8x10 or any major cropping. Erratic AF. LCD useless in bright sun
- turns this camera into a "Point and Guess." Fogs up if you go from underwater to above water (as in surfing shots where you have to go under a lot of waves. Lens ring falls off easily.
