Olympus SZ-14
Back last year, the 24x (25-600 mm) zoom lens in the SZ-30 MR stood out in a market in which even high-end superzooms maxed out at 18x.
Pros:
- Good lens
- Compact and light
- Powerful zoom (24x
- Pleasant to handle
Cons:
- TN screen with tight viewing angles
- Lens quality could be more consistent at wide-angle settings
- Low-quality mono sound
- Digital noise is controlled with heavy smoothing

Olympus SZ-14: Incredible Camera
This camera is Amazing. The zoom is incredible. 24x optical mean that unlike most digital cameras that claim a large zoom using digital zoom, you have opotcal resolution, so no clever stuff guessing what colour extra pixels should be.

Not for me
I wanted a leg up from my point and shoot Kodak V530 ( incidently a superb little camera with high resoloution). This seemed to fit the bill but I was so disappointed! I was gaining very little and actually it had far less features than the V530!
Pros:
- Easy To Use
- Good Battery Life
- Good Sized Screen
Cons:
- Low-Quality Pictures
- Not Good In Low Light

Sitting mid-way up the Olympus range of travel-friendly compact cameras, the Olympus SZ-14 sports a good range of features for a pocket-friendly price. A 14-megapixel CCD sensor should provide ample resolution, even for large prints.

Olympus SZ-14 Review
T ravel zoom digital cameras are a bridge between point-and-shoots and mega-zoom cameras. They are small enough to easily fit into the pocket and offer a raft of features that allow users to capture great shots.

Overall I like it, especially the long zoom (the longest I've found in a compact) and portability. I also sometimes use the long zoom as a sort of telescope to work out what things are that are too far away for me to see otherwise I previously owned a DSLR and although it had more manual options...
Pros:
- Good long optical zoom
- easy to hold and operate
- nice and compact
- some editing functions such as the useful in-camera cropping
- plenty of picture viewing modes
- incorporated complete help with button specific help as well
- some effects options in one mode
- incorporated automatic panorama mode as
Cons:
- no manual focus or manual exposure
- sometimes get silhouetting effect unintentionally but that may be fixable by tweaking the settings
- not as slim as some cameras if that's what you want (doesn't bother me)
- sometimes skies look lighter than they are on a sunny day
- no foldering system that I can

@Video quality like the BBC!
I enquired about this camera in a camera shop. I wanted video as well as a decent zoom. 'It is BBC quality video' the salesman said. He was not wrong! I have become a short video fanatic.
