Do not buy
I purchased an Olympus SZ-14 camera soon after Christmas last year. I used it at my grandchildren's' sporting events during the year. I used it a week ago during an Easter Egg Hunt. Yesterday I tried to use it at a baseball game and it would not turn on. The on-screen error was "zoom error" .

Olympus SZ-14
The SZ-14 represents great value for money for a camera with so long a zoom. Image quality is good, colours are bright and the build quality and menus are excellent. The panorama mode is a little fiddly, but otherwise it's a good job well done.
Cons:
- 720p maximum video resolution
- Some minor noise and fringing on images
- Fiddly panorama mode

Great buy, g
I mistakenly bought this camera because I thought it was a 24 x zoom lens. It is a 24 x wide angled lens. My disappointment turned to delight with the quality of the photos, the amount of choices I have for choosing the type of photo and the ease of use.

BE CAREFUL!
be very poor under low-light conditions, or when using zoom.

Great Zoom
I bought this as a Christmas gift and started playing with it. It takes sharp, accurate pictures, as one expects from most any camera these days. But the zoom! It really is capable of zooming beyond one's capacity to hand hold the shot steady in artificial light. Great stuff.

Excellent camera for the price
Just took this on a tour of Newfoundland and shot hundreds of photos with zoom and without. Good shots, colour balance good, battery life excellent, easy to use.

Firstly I took it to a hockey tournament. The pictures of live action sport were clear and are not blurry. The pictures looked great both on the review screen on the camera and when I put them on my computer. Secondly I took the camera to a house party. Here it got a thorough work out.
