- New Art modes are fun
- Built-in flash
- It's only a small thing
- but I really like the battery door
- Command dial on top of the camera
- Video mode & direct button

Olympus E-PL1
Olympus attempts to address the biggest concern facing photographers who wish to step up from a compact camera to a more robust interchangeable lens system: price. At AU$999, the E-PL1 will be very tempting for many photographers looking at a digital SLR but are put off by the weight and size.
Pros:
- Pop-up flash
- Excellent SLR image quality for the price
- Good noise control
- HD video recording
Cons:
- Slow autofocus
- Small
- low-resolution LCD

E-PL1
While the E-PL1 doesn't quite have the retro chic of the E-P1 and E-P2, it is generally a much improved camera and at a slightly cheaper price too. In fact, if you're a novice Âphotographer who wants to be able to control the camera like the pros without having the steep learning curve of...
Pros:
- : Solid number of features for pros and novices alike
- iAuto mode is brilliant for novice shooters
- good picture quality
Cons:
- : Not as nice-looking as the E-P2
- autofocus still slower than the competition

About time...
Yes, it's larger than your average compact digital camera but it takes a beautiful photo. The manual controls are a bit fiddly but that's not why you would buy this camera. This camera gives a great point-and-shoot experience while offering SLR quality images.

Olympus PEN E-PL1 Review
It's hardly a secret that Canon and Nikon dominate the DSLR market . Rather than beating their heads against the wall by competing directly against them, other manufacturers are zeroing in a new type of camera-one with a large imaging sensor, smaller size and interchangeable lenses so you can get...

Olympus E-PL1 review
Not everyone wants a digital SLR, but many do want more than a compact camera. Not only do they want to take higher quality photos, but they want the SLR's flexibility when it comes to changing lenses.

Olympus E-PL1 camera
Newly introduced, and at the exact same price as Olympus' recently reviewed E-600 Four Thirds digital SLR with 14-42mm kit lens, is the manufacturer's latest Micro Four Thirds system hybrid in the E-PL1 Digital Pen.
Pros:
- On-board flash
- operation simplifying Live Guide
- the E-PL1 offers the cheapest entry point to date into the Pen camera range
Cons:
- Plastic construction where the E-P1 and E-P2 offered steel
- pared down ISO and LCD

Cheapest interchangeable lens camera packs a punch
The Olympus E-PL1 is a somewhat dated Compact Interchangeable Lens Camera (CILC) by today's standard
Pros:
- Cheap but more powerful and customizable than compacts
Cons:
- Older LCD screen
- sensor
- not quite pocketable

Nice little hybrid p&s dsrl camera
I've only had the camera a week, but I'm loving it so far. I have no photography background. I wanted something that took nicer pics than my canon sd1200IS, but wasn't going to take me months to figure out how to use correctly.
Pros:
- Compact size, same sensor as Olympus DSLR E-series cameras, easy to use Auto with nice results
- Manual modes for even more options
Cons:
- Pricey accessories
- but you'll have that with all the micro 4/3's camera's
- so it's not just the E-PL1
