Astonishing camera
Overall a stellar package with the kit lens. The obvious items are that this is a really small package for SLR capabilities. I get really sharp photos overall and very little noise in low light.- Sharp photos
- great low light
- beautiful viewfinder
- touchscreen focusing
- weather sealed
- Price
- would like brighter kit lens
Olympus OM-D E-M5
Olympus's latest Micro Four Thirds release - the OM-D E-M5 - builds on the brand's heritage. Like the digital PEN (E-P) series that came before it, the OM-D is a digital reimagining of the original Olympus OM series - a 35mm film camera series that was born 40 years ago, and continued to run in one...- It's got the look
- innovative stabilisation system
- fast autofocus
- weather-sealed design
- customisation and detailed menus
- Micro Four Thirds opens door to many lenses
- Poor battery life
- pricey
- poor low-light autofocus
- ISO 200 is lowest sensitivity
- image quality similar to Panasonic G3
- continuous/tracking AF not a DSLR-beater
- did we mention the price

Olympus OM-D E-M5 Review
As I have pointed out in the beginning of this review, I have been looking for a good mirrorless camera for a while now, mainly to complement my professional DSLR gear. While I absolutely love the image quality, speed and capabilities of my Nikon DSLR cameras, my biggest issue to date has been...
Quick review - Olympus OM-D E-M5
Tweet Sometimes you come across a camera that makes photography simple. Olympus' OM-D E-M5 is one such beast. Granted, its battery life is not that great, and yes, its buttons are so small you would think it was designed for five year olds, but once set up, the E-M5 never stood in the way of a good...
Olympus OM-D E-M5
Olympus raises the bar for compact system cameras, but this capable all-rounder fails to shine in the company of upmarket DSLRs
Olympus is a well known name when it comes to buying compact , light weight yet feature rich cameras. With the launch of Olympus OM-D E-M5 the company has raised the competition bar in the market of smart digital cameras.
- Multiple exposure
- 3D photography
- 11 types of art filters
- dust and splash proof
- touch panel and high speed shooting
The OM-D is considered a second generation of Micro 4/3 cameras and this one is a game changer in my opinion. They really set the bar high with this model and hit the right spots. Aside from its retro-cool looks, Olympus packed some really good technology that makes this a very compelling choice.

- Built in art effects make capturing unique photos really simple
- Everything feels (and is) high quality and very durable

- Not even sure if any cameras have these options, but I want them
