Good, highly portable
Unbelievably small size for the scene it covers. Contrast is good, detail is moderate (i.e. detail would begin to get fuzzy after approx two levels of zoom). This happens on most ultrawides and cropped sensors due to the span packed on a small space.

Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6 lens review
The Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6 is a lightweight, compact Four Thirds lens gets the What Digital Camera review treatment
Pros:
- Lightweight and very affordable
Cons:
- Softness and sluggish AF
Overall the 9-18mm is a winner for me. Its combination of compact size, low price, and good image quality make it an excellent choice for urban cityscape as well as nature landscape photogrpahy.
Pros:
- Excellent range of focal lengths Compact design Lightweight Good image quality Reasonable price Functions well with the Olympus E-P1 (w/adapter) Balances well with the entire Olympus/Panasonic range of cameras
Cons:
- Slightly slow (faster maximum aperture would be nice for street photography) Focusing could be faster (SWD would be cool) Concerns about long term durability in the field (probably not an issue
- and heavier duty construction might add substantial weight

Great lens for the price
I purchased this lens to round out my selection of lenses. For the value, this lens has provided me a great option for those situation where a wide angle lens is needed to capture that image and include the background or to capture that up close image yet

The Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm 1:4-5.6 is without doubt a very good lens indeed, especially for a relatively inexpensive ultra-wideangle zoom. It's sharp even wide open, has negligible distortion, and shows practically no vignetting.
