Olympus M.ZUIKO 75mm f/1.8 ED - Review / Test Report

The 75mm f/1.8 features a MSC ("Movie and Stills Compatible") AF drive offering a silent, fast and smooth AF. Typical for mirrorless systems the AF accuracy is very high (although this is more a camera rather than a lens aspect).

A wonderful lens. Together with the Nocticron by far the best m43 prime. Better than the 25 f1.2. Cannot be replaced by, for example, a 40-150 f2.8 Pro, as the Bokeh is lightyears better. If you have the money, buy it. You will never regret.

Optically close to perfection; Beautiful colors; Just perfect, not over-saturated; Relatively small and unobtrousive; Ideal for stealth portraits; Wonderful mild and smooth bokeh, One of the best I have ever seen

AF could be faster; Focal length in some situations a tad too long (not the fault of the lens); Lens hood not included and sold by Olympus for an obscene price; I bought the generic hood from JJC for half of the price; Perfect match

Superb product

I have resisted buying this lens for so long, then Wex's 10% off deal came along and I could not resist any longer. It is the most incredible lens I have ever owned, build quality is superb, it's solid, very compact, with smooth manual focus ring.

Durable; Great Picture Quality; Lightweight; Metal Construction

super sharp, perfect for outside portraiture work.

A wonderful lens that is tack sharp, creamy bokeh and the perfect focal length for outside portraiture. I love walking and taking photos of my two children, this lens is perfect for this as you need a little distance between your subject and the camera in order to make the most of it.

Superb lens

"I bought this lens a few days ago to use with my Panasonic Lumix G5 camera (Panasonic and Olympus MFT cameras share the same lens mount). Having run it through a few paces, I am very pleased with the lens.

Announced towards the end of May, the Olympus M. Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 lens is now widely available. Offering a focal length roughly equivalent to a 150mm f/3.5 lens in 35mm film format (thanks to the 1.999x crop factor of 4/3 format sensors), this lens claims to be one of the highest...

Great Lens

I love this lens. When I bought this lens the 12-40mm 2.8 Pro was not announced yet. I think that one would have been more versatile but I'm still very happy with this lens. Wait on it to go down to 799 on Newegg. Thats the best price you'll be able to pick it up for anywhere.

High quality build; fantastic bokeh; outstanding images; smaller then you think

No lens hood

An absolute masterpiece

This lens is amazing. Although large for an m43 prime, it's still astonishingly compact for a 150mm equivalent lens. Compare it to a full frame long prime and it's no contest. On top of that, it's blisteringly sharp starting from f/1.8, and is actually one of my fastest focusing lenses.
