Olympus E-5
The E-5 presents a good upgrade path for those amateur and professional photographers working with the Olympus Four Thirds system. It doesn't provide enough to lure potential buyers from competing brands though.
Pros:
- Magnesium alloy construction
- Weather-sealed
- Art filters
- especially the dramatic tone
- are great
- Excellent dynamic range
- Speedy AF
Cons:
- No full HD video recording
- Falls behind other competitors on top-line specs
- Slow AF in Live View
- No customisable card slots

It's been a good few years between the top-end digital SLR refresh for Olympus, with the E-3 being well and truly due for an upgrade. This new Four Thirds camera, the E-5, is full of considered and incremental updates from the older camera, with an emphasis on improving image quality rather than racing for more megapixels.

if you have olympus glass this is there best one yet
i have the e3 and everythng about this camera is better ,i love the images it produces straight out of the camera . this may be the last fullsized dslr from olympus if you have olympus glass it is worth it .

I have the Leica Digilux 3 but it is only 7.5MP and the Olympus is 12.3. Also, the Leica isn't weatherproof and ISO maximum is 1600 where the E5 maxes at 6400 and i will use this for indoor sports such as basketball. The Leica lenses are interchangeable with this Olympus body and vice versa.

- Good Image Stabilization
- Large Clear LCD
- Quiet
- Tilt /Swivel LCD

- Noisy At High ISO

I have the Leica Digilux 3 but it is only 7.5MP and the Olympus is 12.3. Also, the Leica isn't weatherproof and ISO maximum is 1600 where the E5 maxes at 6400 and i will use this for indoor sports such as basketball. The Leica lenses are interchangeable with this Olympus body and vice versa.

Excellent with good light
I've been using an Olympus E-1 since early 2004. I use the ZD 14-54mm, 50-200mm, 50mm macro and Panasonic/Leica 25mm Four-Thirds lenses. I've mainly been shooting sports/action and wildlife photos.

Olympus E-5 Review
I couldn't help but feel impressed and a little bit depressed by the Olympus E-5. It's a surprisingly rugged camera with great image quality, terrific speed, excellent controls and the added flexibility of still image and video capture.
Pros:
- Solid construction
- Fast auto focus
- Articulated LCD
Cons:
- Some highlight clipping
- Weaker at high ISO
- Lower resolution than competition
