I really do not like this printer as I do quite a lot of scanning and when it scans it repeatedly jams, and also the scans are greyed out rather than being black and white. It does take good copies.

best model and make of machine i have used
Built around an LED engine, which means that it uses LEDs rather than a laser to draw the image of each page on its drum, the OKI MB492 ($599) uses the same technology as laser printer otherwise.
Prints, scans, copies, and faxes; Duplex (two-sided) printing and scanning; Touch-screen controls; 350-sheet capacity standard; Maximum 880 sheets
No Wi-Fi, even as an upgrade; Speed is acceptable, but unimpressive, for both the price and engine rating
This fast and inexpensive-to-use multifunction mono printer is well-equipped for high-volume print loads, though its lack of Wi-Fi connectivity might be a deal-breaker for some would-be buyers.
Very competitive cost per page; Good print quality; High-capacity drawers and override tray; Relatively fast; Auto-duplexing ADF; Single-pass duplex scanning
Comes with 2,000-page "starter" toner cartridge; No Wi-Fi (standard; or via upgrade; Limited support for mobile devices

That makes it indistinguishable from a monochrome laser multifunction printer (MFP) in any practical sense, which is why LED-based printers are usually grouped with lasers. If you're looking for a monochrome laser MFP for up to heavy-duty use in a micro or small office—or up to medium-duty use in a midsize office—the MB492 ($549.99 at Amazon) is a strong contender, and it belongs on your short list. The OKI printer doesn't offer quite enough to replace the Brother MFC-8950DW as Editors' Choice for the category, primarily because of its lower paper capacity and lack of both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, even as an upgrade. If you don't need the Brother printer's additional paper handling or its Wi-Fi support, however, the two printers are closely matched otherwise, with similar speeds, MFP fun...
The LED-based OKI MB492 can be an excellent fit as a heavy-duty monochrome multifunction printer for a micro or small office or as a medium-duty MFP for a midsize office.
