NZXT Phantom 530 Full-Tower Chassis

Today I will be taking a look at a great Phantom case by NZXT. These guys have been in the game for a while, and their name is associated with many high quality products. Not only do they build great cases, but they offer a wide range of products including cooling components, fans and controllers,...

Plenty of room; Easy routing and cable management; Rear Mounted SSD tray; Integrated fan controller; Modular design; Many tool-less connections; Bold look

Absence of an ATX 8-Pin extension cable; Would like to see additional fans included

NZXT Phantom 530

When we reviewed the NZXT Phantom 630 in September, we praised the chassis for excellent design, thoughtful extras, and a very reasonable price point for the luxury case market. The NZXT Phantom 530 is the next step down from the NZXT 630, with a slightly cheaper price tag and a few feature changes.

Offers almost all the features its more expensive brethren, for about $30 less; Excellent cooling performance; Supports both internal and external water cooling

Ships with just two fans; Lacks the integrated card reader of the higher-end model

NZXT Phantom 530

The newest addition to the Phantom Series is a mid-tower with updated looks and quite the number of features from its bigger brethren. Available in red, black, or white, we wonder how much better the new model will be when compared to the likes of the Phantom 410, which costs just as much.

NZXT Phantom 530 Case Video Review

The NZXT Phantom 530 Case is a full tower so it has lots of space, looks great, plenty of drive bays, cable management, fits long video cards/PSUs, 30W fan controller, I/O LEDs, USB3 and more. They've done a fantastic job of improving on the original Phantom Case.

NZXT Phantom 530 Case Review

The Phantom 530 is a new case from NZXT with a very aggressive look, excellent and flexible ventilation options, and a top-notch overall quality. Let's take a look at it.

Eight expansion slots with vented covers; LEDs to illuminate the rear panel; Top-notch construction quality; Excellent price for its features and construction quality; Air filter for the power supply and bottom fans; removed from the front and rear panels; Supports six 3.5" and seven 2.5" devices,...

Could have USB 2.0 ports on the front or top panel; in addition to the USB 3.0 ones

NZXT Phantom 530 Full Tower Case Review

The push into retro styling has been a real case of hit or miss. We have seen it mainly in automobiles, and the results have been widely varied. Dodge/Chrysler can be credited for starting the movement and they have also been the most successful.

Evolution of Phantom Styling With Smoother Lines; Flawless Auto Quality Finish; Excellent Flexible Component Configurations; Excellent Natural Airflow; Optional Mounting Locations for and Abundance of Fans and Radiators; Thick 360mm Radiator Capable on Top; Top Radiator/Fan Mount Allows for Fans To...

NZXT Phantom 530 Full Tower Case Review

The Phantom 530 is currently available for $129.99 at Newegg , which puts it in a very competitive position for a full tower case. The water cooling support is a major plus with its ability to house up to four radiators of varying sizes.

Shrinking the new Phantom layout from what was the Phantom 630 super-tower down to what we see in the Phantom 530 was a good move in my opinion. While not as roomy as the larger version, the Phantom 530 took every advantage it could with the layout and what is offered.

NZXT Phantom 530 Case Review

However I feel about NZXT's too frequent recycling of the Phantom aesthetic and design, it's still very hard to argue with results. I'm reluctant to fawn over the Phantom 530 because it feels extremely iterative instead of progressive.

Pros

I recieved this case a few days ago and it was perfect for a full sized ATX build. It meets a happy medium of simple designs but not overly simple like some of the the other NZXT cases. Very functional, easy to set up and compatible with a variety of mother boards, CPU coolers, etc.

Beautiful case, sleek, durable, spacious, customizable, great air flow and stock fans; Window shows all the important parts while hiding the dead space; Overall very gorgeous and functional case

It's very large; but to be expected with a full tower
