The Nokia n900 is the ultimate N-series smartphone

I was eagerly awaiting the nokia n900 as I used to own the previously released nokia n97. When I finally received one I was nothing short of impressed. Straight away I could feel the benfits of the new linux based operating system that the nokia n900 uses.

Nokia N900 Review

All in all, the N900 is probably a grower, but you'll have to put in a lot of effort to fully appreciate it. Its size is a really prohibitive factor and one that might put a lot of people off, not to mention the keyboard which makes typing emails and text messages a bit of a pain.

Nokia never said it was a good phone. jnust a brill multimedia device. Owning this for myself who always has access to a mobile phone charger in my cab is ideal. If I'm going out anywhere and need the convenience of a decent phone then I take the sim card out and put it in my old Nokia N95 8GB which...
Pros:
  • homebrew stuff
  • for a techy guy like me its a laptop in my pocket
Cons:
  • the phone app
  • lol & battery life but battery not an issue for me coz I'm a cabbie

N900

Today, Nokia stands at a fascinating fork in the road. Let's consider the facts: first, and most unavoidably, the company is the largest manufacturer of cellphones in the world by a truly sobering margin.
Pros:
  • Best-in-class browsing experience
  • Unlocked AWS 3G
  • a rarity
  • Extremely hacker-friendly
Cons:
  • UI and UX inconsistencies throughout
  • Resistive touchscreen
  • Keyboard isn't very roomy

Nokia N900 in-depth review -

Nokia has been one of the main protagonists in the smartphone saga, with its N95 being one of the first all seeing, all doing mobile phones. Since then, we've been inundated with new characters from BlackBerry, Apple, Samsung and HTC all jostling for top billing.
Pros:
  • An exceptional multitasker
  • the N900 houses enough power to maintain the running of multiple apps to deliver a true PC-like experience
Cons:
  • This is no Slim Jim and will leave a considerable bulge in your pocket

Nokia N900

The Nokia N900 is much better than the N97 is, I can vouch for that. However, I think that its form factor alone will be a deterrent for many potential users. If Nokia wants to create an great smartphone eco-system, it needs to have a strong user base (in that space), and to achieve that, it needs...
Pros:
  • big screen
  • good playing pic
Cons:
  • a little big

Nokia N900 â€" the ultimate Linux phone?

The N900 might not be an iPhone killer, and it might not be a perfect Netbook/Phone combo yet, but with the Maemo operating system Nokia has laid the groundwork for a great range of devices in the future.
Pros:
  • At first glance the N900 seems impressive
  • It has a 600MHz Arm Cortex CPU, 256MB of ram and 32GB of onboard storage, with a high resolution, crystal clear 3.5in screen.
Cons:
  • Firstly
  • it feels very plasticky
  • almost like the inside of a Corsa Utility van.
