N900: A Geek's best friend

This phone is built for, meant for and bought by geeks. But first, let's start with the screen. It's not Super AMOLED like the Samsung Galaxy S, but it does have the SAME exact screen resolution, a 800x480 pixel count, as the Galaxy S phones.

Nokia N900

I won't say this phone is a value for money phone. The product range available for this phone is so limited that it seems u r living in 18th century. I hope they start launching new applications asap. Sound quality s#cks and it sucks even more when u use non Nokia headphones!

First look at Nokia RX-51 also known as Nokia N900

I would say what's going to follow are my personal impressions of the device plus opinios of my family and several people who also had a chance to play around with the N900. Compared to S60, the N900's boot time is much faster, and also take into account the fact that we played around only with its...

Nokia is facing a tide of ferocious competitors in the lucrative high-end smartphone market, but the company is on the move: Nokia is battling on multiple fronts a the same time: OS, app store, maps and devices. With the N900, Nokia wanted to build a "handheld computer with phone functionalities".

A new hope

It's crystal clear by now that the Nokia N900 has almost nothing to do with the traditional Nseries values. The full QWERTY side-slider may look similar to its double-digit mates but the Maemo experience is completely different.

Nokia N900 Review

Nokia N900 is the final product which opens up a new path for the Finnish smartphone producer. After Google, which launched its new open source operating system for mobile phones, Nokia raised the stakes a few months later with its own vision, which is called Maemo.
Pros:
  • Maemo operating system is really a hit, even though not that complex and developed as Android, it really shows potential
  • Add to that the excellent Web-browsing capabilities, HSDPA connectivity, excellent touchscreen, as well as decent camera and you got yourself a really good smartphone.
Cons:
  • I think the only drawback of the phone is the low life autonomy of the battery, and the high price as well, which could be a setback for those that have a limited budget
  • Also, limited number of third-party software is an important disadvantage, if we are to compare it with Android.
