Nokia N900 Linux smartphone
Once the unequalled leader among mobile phone manufacturers, Nokia still returns impressive sales, but ceded its dominance of the smartphone market with the arrival of the iPhone. It's been playing catch-up ever since, sticking rigidly to a Symbian OS that only seemed to grow older looking with each...

Test : Nokia N900.

Smart & Sleek ..
It is a very sleek and kikass smartphone. It comes with a qwerty touchpad and a slide. The operating system Maemo 5 didn't turn out to be so good. Besides that the smartphone isn't java enabled. Battery life isn't that good as it dosen't last too long. There is 256MB RAM and 32 GB storage space.

Nokia N900
The N900 drops the moniker of "internet tablet", choosing to push forward with "mobile computer" as this model comes in to supplant the N810, released back in 2007. 2-years along and the landscape of internet-savvy mobile devices has changed greatly.
Pros:
- Good hardware
- bags of potential
- multitasking options
Cons:
- Battery life
- lack of apps
- lacks aspect switching

Nokia N900 review Review
The N900 packs a truck load of features, including a slide-out Qwerty keyboard and the brand-new Maemo 5 operating system, into its chunky black body. This brave new handset does a good job of erasing from our brains the bitter disappointment caused by the N97
Pros:
- Fresh operating system shows huge potential
- Massive internal memory
- Bright
- clear screen
- Decent keyboard
- Good VoIP and IM features
- Worthwhile camera
- Fast and smooth user interface
- Accurate Web browser with Flash support
- 3.5mm headphone jack means you can use your own cans
- Expandable memory,
Cons:
- Few apps available
- No real potential for one-handed operation
- Resistive touchscreen
- Almost no portrait mode
- Slightly chubby
- Behaves more like an Internet tablet than a phone
- Needs significant setting up to get the most out of it

Nokia N900 review
A good phone that shows Nokia has more strings to its smartphone bow than just Symbian

Nokia N900
The Nokia N900 is the next evolution of the company's Internet Table , and don't let its smaller size fool you. It delivers more power, adds phone capabilities, and has one of most robust mobile Web browsers on the market today.
Pros:
- The Nokia N900 offers a powerful mobile Web browser, plenty of storage, a 5-megapixel camera, and an ultrasharp display
- It's also fast, multitasks well, and has excellent call quality
- Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, and GPS are all onboard
Cons:
- The user interface isn't very intuitive
- Ovi Store for the N900 isn't live yet, limiting the number of available apps, and it doesn't sync with Exchanger Server 2003
- The phone is a bit bulky and not all apps work in portrait mode

Nokia N900
And now for something completely different. The N900 is Nokia's first Maemo OS smartphone and it's their first Maemo version 5 device. Maemo is a Linux-based OS, and prior versions powered Nokia's non-phone Internet tablets like the N770 , N800 and N810 .
Pros:
- Best web browser on a mobile phone
- elegant multi-tasking
Cons:
- Portrait orientation not available in most apps
- WiFi kills battery life

Available as Prepaid?
This phone is good for web browsing and data, it has really cool features too. But I was wondering if it is available on a prepaid plan... preferably on Straight Talk? If so, I could save over $500 a year on average by switching from my old monthly contract.
Pros:
- Good web browsing and internet
Cons:
- -Dropped calls
