Neat Little Phone
I have received my N79 phone and I am really pleased with it. It had v10 firmware on but after waiting about 10 - 15 mins for the ew firmware to download the phone seems to work better. All i can say is the build quality is excellent! and i dont know why i put off buying this phone.

Excellent everything really. Once you get used to Nokia (I have always used SE phones), it is a treat to work with. That on screen wifi scanner is great!
Pros:
- Fast phone
- good camera
- responsive gps
- finally a candy bar design with the latest technology
Cons:
- Nokia organizer

many functions in small package
Despite it having been around for a while, the N79 is a versatile and convenient device. Many useful applications are included by Nokia, including a Podcast browser and Internet radio browser. The music player is decent, and the Maps application works well, especially when used with A-GPS.

Nokia N79 review
Nokia's Nseries phones have all been feature-packed wonders of miniaturisation. Even so, they've tended to be on the chunky side, but this latest version is the smallest yet. The Nokia N79 could almost be called svelte at just 15mm thick and weighing in at 97g (5g lighter than its predecessor, the...

(part 2)
Also with the Photos, now they have gotten rid of the classic Image Viewer and there's this photo app. It's annoying though b/c like the gallery, it shows you ALL the pics on the phone. Not handy if you've take a few you don't want like your mother, for instance, to see.

I fell in the pool and that was the final drop my good old Nokia 6610 did not survive. I dried it immediately, it worked for a while but the buttons were mixed up. I have the N79 now for two weeks and it is exactly the phone I need.
Pros:
- A real Nokia with all the bells and whistles and only 97grams in weight
Cons:
- Screen exposed
- scratches quite easily

Review: Nokia N79
Another interesting comparison is putting the new N79 up against the year old N82 - as two of Nokia's leading 'candy bar' form factor smartphones, both still in production, it makes for an obvious 'which one to buy' moment.

Nokia N79 smartphone
The N79 seems to have followed the N78 with almost indecent haste, which is sure to irritate some, but the advantages are obvious – 5 megapixel camera, increased memory and battery life, plus N-Gage games.

Nokia N79 smartphone
back in the summer of 2008 and even in the quick turnover world of mobile phones it almost seems a little too soon to be looking at its successor. But here it is, looking leaner, fitter and offering some significant improvements – it's almost as if Nokia just couldn't wait to get it out there.

Nokia N79 review: Nokia N79
The Nokia N79 delivers extensive features and performs well. Unlike other N-series handsets, the N79 comes with covers that are recognised by the phone, which changes its theme accordingly. It's not the most exciting feature ever, but it does add something different. Overall, we enjoyed using the N79. Our only real complaint is the slightly flat keypad If you're a fan of exchangeable covers, the Nokia N79 might just be the phone for you. Boasting similar features to the Nokia N95, the N79 uses an intelligent-casing system that adds a little extra to an otherwise mundane accessory. The Nokia N79 will be made available soon for free on a monthly contract.
Pros:
- Exchangable, intelligent covers
- Wi-Fi
- HSDPA
- GPS.
Cons:
- Keypad could be more defined.
