Nokia's Lumia 900 reviewed: big, shiny, and very sturdy

Nokia's Lumia 800 has barely had enough time to sit on store shelves, but the company is already improving upon it, adding a bigger version of the handset designed to compete with the big screen phones like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X . Is this the biggest and best Windows phone yet?
Pros:
  • Excellent voice quality
  • Very speedy
  • Solid build
Cons:
  • Could be a heavy phone for many
  • Screen resolution is relatively low and poor quality in comparison to competition
  • Limited upgrade path

Nokia Lumia 900 review

The Lumia 900 is a great smartphone that will be welcomed by existing Windows Phone users. However a lack of real changes means that the device is unlikely to entice iOS and Android users to move platforms.
Pros:
  • Solid and attractive design
  • good overall performance
  • reasonable battery life
  • decent camera
  • shows off the best Windows Phone has to offer
Cons:
  • Windows Phone's app offering is still trailing behind iOS and Android's
  • needs Zune to connect the device to a PC

Review: Nokia Lumia 900

Having recently reviewed, and been impressed by, Nokia's Lumia 800, it was with keen interest I looked forward to test-driving the second phone to be released using the Windows Mobile operating system – the Lumia 900.
Pros:
  • Great design
  • easy to operate
  • fantastic screen
  • good processor
Cons:
  • Has some data traps
  • Nokia needs to do a better job selling its features

To give you some context: I've used Symbian & Android smartphones to date. I'm a Mac user and not the greatest fan of Windows desktop. When I looked for a new phone - I set all this aside and started from scratch. My criteria - 1. It had to be a good telephone - easy to use with reliable reception.
Pros:
  • Beautiful display quality - slick UI - excellent sound quality - good battery
Cons:
  • Camera could be marginally better in low light

If you happen to be a technophile already swooning over the classy Nokia Lumia family, you most certainly have more dough coming your way! Those exasperated of patronising either of the two gigantic tribes-Android or Apple, may well gear up for a bracing third option-the spirited Windows!

Nokia Lumia 900 Review

After spending some quality time with the Nokia Lumia 900 , we have to admit, we're not entirely blown away by it. Rather, it's essentially yet another device that we've experienced on numerous occasions in the past already – and it merely plays to the same level found with existing Windows Phones...
Pros:
  • Super affordable at $99.99 on-contract
  • Unique and solid design
  • Great calling quality
  • 4G LTE connectivity
Cons:
  • Shoots some average photos & videos

Nokia Lumia 900 review

Windows Phone powers the Nokia Lumia 900, which we first got our hands on back at CES in January 2012. Microsoft's elegant and fresh-as-paint operating system hasn't gained market share against Apple and Android yet, but it deserves to.
Pros:
  • Striking Nokia design
  • Windows Phone tiles gleam
  • The battery keeps going

Expectations Exceeded

I have used Android since it first became available and have watched as it has evolved. There are still some points of "stickiness" and a few little buggy actions I have seen on about every phone I have used.
Pros:
  • design
Cons:
  • no expansion

Nokia Lumia 900 Review: In Depth

Do we like the Lumia 900? Yes. A lot. It's lovely. It's solid and reassuring, its screen is bold and deep, and it's usable one handed. Demure, subtle and fluid however it isn't - those are qualities of the Lumia 800.
Pros:
  • Large AMOLED display
  • Fantastic Nokia apps
  • Smooth
  • attractive interface
Cons:
  • Too big for a 4.3-inch device
  • Identical to Lumia 800
  • Poor camera indoor performance

Nokia Lumia 900

The Nokia Lumia 900 is one of the most anticipated Windows phones and it lives up to its expectations with its sleek design, fast processor, and relatively affordable price point. Design-wise the device is truly eye-catching, albeit a bit portly.
