The Nokia Lumia 720 isn't just a beautiful Windows Phone, it's beautiful smartphone. If you're not after a bleeding edge, super-specced device, and can put up with Windows Phone's lacklustre app selection, you'll love its bright colours and ease of use.

Nokia Lumia 720 review

Do the small perks afforded to the 720 justify that price? You get a slightly better shooter than all the other models, a bigger screen at the same resolution and peripheral-assisted wireless charging.
Pros:
  • Attractive design
  • 2,000mAh battery
  • Good low-light pics
Cons:
  • Aging innards
  • Relatively expensive

Nokia Lumia 720 Review

Being the middle child is always difficult, so in that respect the Nokia Lumia 720 has it tough as it nestles slap bang in the centre of the Finnish firm's Windows Phone 8 range.
Pros:
  • Windows Phone 8 runs smoother than a greased up penguin on an ice rink and this makes the Lumia 720 a joy to use
  • allowing us to slide seamlessly between screens
Cons:
  • There's not a lot of grip to be hand when you're holding the Lumia 720 and we experienced many slips and drops during our testing period – luckily none were from a great height
  • but you might want to invest in a rubber skin

Nokia Lumia 720 Review

In some ways, the Lumia 720 is everything we've asked for from Nokia. It's slickly designed and has superlative battery life, the camera out-performs rivals in the same price bracket, and the screen - though lower resolution than we like - is a nice compromise of size, outdoor usability, and general...

Nokia Lumia 720 review

Nokia Lumia 720 review

There's a lot to like about the Nokia Lumia 720. As a device, the design is fantastic and the build quality is great. It might not be the slimmest, or boast the greatest specs, but it is a nice comfortable phone to use day-to-day.
Pros:
  • Great design and build quality
  • feels great in the hand
  • plenty of software additions from Nokia
  • good camera performance
Cons:
  • Feels a little sluggish
  • not a huge step-up over the cheaper Lumia 620

Nokia Lumia 720 review: On target

Having covered the premium and the entry-level segment, Nokia is paying due attention to the midrange and hoping that it will pay off handsomely. The Lumia 720 was the leader of the company's lineup at this year's MWC and is arguably the company's best shot at extending its growth streak over the...

  • Quad-band 3G with 21 Mbps HSDPA and 5.7 Mbps HSUPA support
  • 4.3" 16M-color ClearBlack IPS LCD display of WVGA resolution
  • 6.1 megapixel autofocus camera with super-fast F/1.9 lens and LED flash
  • 720p@30fps video recording

  • Windows Phone 8

  • A few prominent apps still missing
  • some apps incompatible due to 512MB RAM
