Nikon Z50 review

The Z50 is a nice little camera that is fun to use and surprisingly capable. Its control layout will be familiar to photographers who already use Nikon DSLRs.

Nikon Z50 review

Available at a great price and with lots to like - including build quality, handling, a very usable screen and viewfinder - the Z50 might be the new kid on the APS-C mirrorless block, but it’s easily one of the best out there.

Great handling, Attractively priced, Excellent image quality

Tilting screen mechanism no good for tripod mounting, Only a single UHS-I card slot, No joystick for selecting AF points

Nikon Z50 review

The Nikon Z50 has hit the ground running, so to speak, with a camera body that has excellent ergonomics, a solid design, great handling, and easy to access settings. The body is compact, giving you the benefits of a mirrorless camera system, but not too compact, and not at the expense of handling...

Excellent ergonomics and handling, Excellent image quality and noise performance, New DX Z-Mount lenses perform well, Compact camera body, Clear logical menu system (more advanced section is colour coded), Fast continuous shooting, 4K UHD video with multiple options

Limited APS-C Z mount lenses so far, Doesn't feature in-camera image stabilisation, MicroUSB socket

Nikon Z50 review

The Nikon Z 50 is great for landscape photography. Image quality is impressive, with excellent dynamic range to bring out more highlight and shadow detail. There isn't too much noise at higher ISO settings, so it performs okay in low light.

Great image quality., Comfortable to operate., Well-built and weather-sealed.

Not the most portable option., Mediocre battery performance.

Nikon Z50 review

In as many ways as we can quantify, the Nikon Z50 is an incredible camera. Its drawbacks lie in the areas that are more difficult to measure, such as the overall value when considering the whole system investment, including available native lenses.

Incredible Photo & Video Image Quality, Impressive Durability, Familiar & Intuitive Ergonomics, Compact & Lightweight

Autofocus is better than Nikon DX DSLRs, but behind some competing mirrorless options, Battery life & in-camera charging leaves something to be desired, Native DX Z-mount lens selection is limited

Nikon Z50 review

The new Nikon Z50 mirrorless camera is the smallest interchangeable-lens DX-format camera Nikon offers, and as you can probably tell, I liked it a lot. It’s small and rugged with surprisingly high build quality for the price, and its thin, sleek design is very attractive.

Nikon Z50 review

Nikon has done a great job making its first mirrorless DX camera, the Nikon Z50. It is packed full of great features, has superb ergonomics and a very intuitive menu system. The 20.9 MP sensor has similar performance as what we have seen from the Nikon D7500, with excellent high-ISO and dynamic...

Nikon Z50 review

The Nikon Z6 and Z7 are great, but not all photographers want a full-frame camera. Now there’s an alternative for Nikon users wanting a mirrorless camera, the Nikon Z50. It has plenty to offer experienced photographers, with a solid build and a comprehensive feature set.
