As an amateur enthusiast I bought this as an upgrade from the SB400 and there is no comparison. I have been experimenting with it over the last month and the photographs I am getting are far superior to those that I was getting previously.

The use of AA batteries (lasts only a few shots & then you have to wait for the charge to ready the gun) is a big issue for me as I take picture with flash in quick succession). When will Nikon make a flash gun with a battery the same as the one in camera that will last 7 can be recharged.

I was watching this product for over 1 year, finally I bought this product on Homeshop18. Excellent delivery time, and of course this product is excellent. I bought this product along with eneloop rechargable battery pack. This completes this product.

Menu can be a bit confusing at first but the on/off/selector knob/switch is a great improvement over the SB-800's controls. Easily switch from flash to master to remote in just the flick of a switch. Works great with the D4.

I have a SB-600 flash and realy enjoy it. I was asked to take pictures for an event and wanted to avoid the harsh shadows of a single flash.

It still solve your problem of holding flash/remote trigger, but I recomend the AS-19. That is smaller, more durable and has metal nut on bottom instead of plastic.

This is a very well constructed and capable flashgun and once fitted to the hotshot works instantly without the need to undertake additional setting up. The only downside of this flash is that its bulky but other than that simply excellent.
