Great reduced weight, but of course, the quality is not to be compared with my previous zoom lense which was twice the price, almost twice the weight, and twice the quality!! However, it is great for it's price.

I love this lense, for landscapes and architecture and those large group portraits this is The Lense. Also great lense if you like doing astrophotography. Its heavy but dont let that put you off, quality lenses are heavy, its all in the build.

I love using this lens when photographing outdoors, which I do predominantly. It brings the distance to me and allows me to capture details not otherwise evident.

This Nikon AF-S 55-300mm is great value if you don't want to spend too much on a telephoto lens. It can be purchased as part of a twin lens camera package or sold separately. The advantage this lens has over the 55-200mm is the extra zoom which comes in handy for family members playing sport, travel...

Look for over a year and saved money for a longtime before I pulled the trigger and bought this as one of my lens. Happy I have it, have a UV filter to protect lens and loving the lens.

So far this is a great lens,nice and sharp. I had been shooting with a 55-200 and just needed that extra length. The VR works well at lower shutter speeds. I'm glad I got this lens.
