Good For The Price
I had this lens for awhile before I got my equipment stolen. Although it might not be the best quality construction, it took very good pictures and is a very convenient focal length for a walk-a-round lens.

Pros:
- Useful 'walkabout' zoom range
- Decent optical performer
- Very good value
- VR performs well
- Lightweight
Cons:
- AF noticeably slower at telephoto end of the zoom
- CA at 105mm and apertures below f/11

Nikon's 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom can be bought either as a standalone lens or as the kit lens with a Nikon D90. This lens is not only very versatile, thanks to an almost 6x zoom range, but also affordable.

one of the best cheap lens out there
Got it with a D90 kit. this is probably one of the most satisfying kit lens in the market. It produce picture quality that isn't visually worse than any other expensive lens. VR works great and saved many of my pics.

Great Lens
Great Lens. To bad it's not the 18-200mm VR. but I think this lens might be a little more Sharp than the 18-200mm. Oh and it's Heavy, but again. Not nearly as heavy as the 18-200mm of course.
Pros:
- So far this has been a great lens
- I don't have the D90 yet but I wanted this lens
- as it completely replaces the standard 18-55mm lens
- This 18-105 is a great everyday use lens
- Very Sharp Photo's and works great.
- It's very fast, responsive
- and of course AF-S (Silent AF).
Cons:
- The Manual Focus Ring is very easy to turn
- I sometimes after the Camera AF's I accidentally hit it and it turns a little
- I'm still learning this lens and I'm sure soon it will be a Flawless and perfect user experience
