Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G Lens - Brand New review
This is a small and lightweight lens that can be carried around anywhere easily. However, the size should not be taken for its lack of performance. It can perform in any light condition, which is a stellar feature as far as the price goes.
Pros:
- Lightweight and easy to hold, Renders silky and natural-looking bokeh, Equipped with a super-fast and quiet autofocus, Subject and background mesh together beautifully, At full aperture, the resolution in the middle of the image is brilliant
Cons:
- Lens distortion issues are noticeable, Vignetting can be seen at full aperture, Aperture and vibration ring are not equipped

My Favorite Lens
This is an incredible lens. With fast accurate focusing, super sharp, color rich images, it just shines. Mine required no calibration, and measured against a calibration chart was dead on right out of the box. In practice it also focuses quickly.

Literally my favourite lens. Not always a practical length but consistently sharp and fast. Good build quality.

I bought this for two upcoming weddings and with the 1.8 aperture it will be great inside the venues. The filter size is 67mm and already have two filters that size for my Nikon 18-300mm lens and also have the Nikon 35mm lens, so this 85mm lens will round out my collection nicely

Nikon AF-S 85mm F1.8G Lens 85MM F1.8G LENS review
Great portrait lens...
Pros:
- Beets the 1.4 in everything but build quality, great color & contrast
- The only category the 1.4 beets it in is having a 1.4 aperture.

Nikon 85mm f/1.8G AF-S Nikkor
One of the sharpest prime lenses Nikon has ever produced. Sharp even at f1.8. Very nice bokeh as one would expect. This is a worthy successor to the venerable "D" version of this lens. A new classic 85 portrait lens in F mount.
Pros:
- Image quality and overall sharpness
- wide-open sharpness
- size
- bokeh
- weight
- cost
Cons:
- Build quality could be better

Grey market lens but not listed as such
There was no indication in the listing that this is a grey market lens therefore the warranty would not be serviceable by Nikon Canada. The supplier placed a sticker on the box indicating that there is a two year warranty but as the lens was originally supplied to India it is uncertain as to who or...

This lens blows me away
I was a bit skeptical that I wouldn't use this lens that much given it's focal length. But recent I started doing in studio fashion/beauty shots and I have to say, the images I get with this lens and my D750 are just unbelievably sharp, almost to a fault (not really), but yes, with some people post...

Recommended +++++
Limitless possibilities with this lens. Consistently sharp and colorful images. Ordinarily my favorite portrait lens is the Sigma 50mm 1.4 on the Nikon D610 but, the Nikon 85mm 1.8G often leaves me undecided. /:) You can't go wrong with this one.
