I just got the Nikon D7100 camera and wanted a telephoto lens to photograph wildlife. This new 80-400mm lens has been everything I wanted. Easy to use and focus providing super photos. Highly recommended.

Could be considered expensive at current prices

I love this lens. I used to own a Sony A7R when they first came out. Great camera and ideal for my situation... I could take it climbing with me as it was so light....Due to a house burglary I lost it and my wife replaced it with a Nikon D5300. I know; fairly low end.

certainly a big step up from its predecessor, but with the D750 I had trouble getting sharp images utilising the VR. I've since learned this camera has issues with certain VR lenses, which eas allegedly fixed in a firmware update.

I traded my 70-200 f 2.8mm lens for this new Nikon 80-400mm lens and in some way am a little disappointed with the decision, as the quality achieve with this lens despite what others may say, is still a mile off the quality you will be able to achieve with your prime lenses.

I ordered the new Nikon AF-S 80-400mm lens from Smifu late on Wednesday, and it was delivered the following Monday morning. Mark from Smifu in Brisbane was so very pleasant and helpful, both on the phone and via emails. I have already recommended Smifu to some of my photography friends.

Great lens for shooting sports and nature. Excellent focal length and speed for the price. Must use a mono or tripod for all day shooting- it gets a bit heavy after a while.

This lens takes excellent high resolution photographs throughout the zoom range and has a fast enough maximum aperture to work even on cloudy days beyond the flash range.
