What a thrill!

This lens was recommended for delicate, close-up work and it is great. I have begun to get the feel of the additional weight in my hand. I haven't been able to get outside yet because of the snow to take some close-up shots and can't wait.

I actually walked into my local camera store with every intention of getting the newer Micro 85mm 3.5 VR, but actually had to prove to the staff that it even existed, so needless to say, I didn't even get to touch it. Must have been Gods will.

- Tack sharp at all apertures; - AF override compared to other brands; - quick; silent; internal focusing; - accurate colors; - Nano coating...apparently that's good; - includes hood; - minimal focus distance at around 2" away; - 9 blades for great backgrounds; - Nice solid build; no shaking parts

- Pricey; I did also pay the premium of getting it in store rather then getting if from Adorama; Gotta support the local stores once in a while, - Heavy...unless you like it that way like I do, - Some may scoff at the lack of a limit switch, - 60mm means getting real close to your subject.

Outstanding Lens!

I love this lens-it is my favorite, thus far!!! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful macro or micro lens, and it is also wonderful for portraits. However, do not be fooled by the "VR" that Best Buy has added to the description...it's not there.

Crystal clear images; outstanding close-ups; beautiful bokeh

No VR as Best Buy has stated in their description

REVIEW: Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Macro Nikkor Review

Nikon's latest 60mm Micro lens replaces the old D version and adds a silent wave focusing motor, a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture, internal focusing and can be picked up for around £365. This lens is compatible with both FX and DX format cameras.

Nikon 60mm f/2.8G AF-S ED Micro Lens

While I hope to create a full Nikon 60mm f/2.8G AF-S ED Micro Lens, my first priority is to include results from this lens in the lens comparison tools available on the site. This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information...

Headline is Perfect!

Use micro for shots of jewelry and other small items; both for sale and personal use. Use the 35mm as a standard lens...great as a standard lens. Use others for outdoor use... scenery, group shots, etc. All are wonderful products and work perfectly...

Consistent Output; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Strong Construction

Superb little macro lens

At 90mm equivalent, it also doubles as a half-decent portrait lens on DX bodies. The images it produces are as sharp as you could ever want, and it is just perfect for subjects that don't move much such as flowers or bees that are occupied with them.

Superbra makro

Lens Test: Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro-Nikkor

The latest version of Nikon's legendary close-focusing 1:1 "normal" macro (the first was the 55mm f/3.5 of 1961), this full-frame lens ($490, street) incorporates aspheric and ED glass elements, with Nikon's Nano crystal coating, indicated by the gold "N" logo, for suppressing internal flare and...
