Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro Nikkor

If I can only carry one camera while on vacation or when weight limit is an issue, this is the lens I most often use with my D800e. Informal people photos, landscapes, and close-ups/copy-work, the 60mm G is a good bargain lens.

low distortion; good contrast; light weight; sufficiently sharp

Probably the best Nikkor 60mm macro ever

This is a very good lens length, it is very easy to hand hold and hand hold still. It is probably the best Nikkor macro of this range, I have owned the 55 mm 3.5 non-Ai, the 55mm 2.8 AIs and the 60mm 2.8 AF-d....all have been very good this one tops them.

Want to get extreme close-up shots on any camera format? Look no further than the Nikon 60mm f/2.8 micro lens… Many lenses are labelled ‘macro', implying they support ultra-close-up shooting. But in most cases this isn't really true. For real macro photography you need a genuine macro lens.

A Great Lens to Own

Very sharp images on close-up shots, as well a good lens to use for stand inportrait work. The lens is light enough, as macro-micro lens go, that it can beused as a "walk around" lens. The 60 feels solid and the focus ring has a goodfeel to it.

Consistent Output; Strong Construction

This is my favourite lens. It's sharp, razor sharp, right across the frame (DX in my case) at all apertures. I've heard people say that it focuses slower than the Nikon 105mm macro lens but when I tried the two side by side in the shop before buying this lens I found that on a D7000 or D7100 the...

Very sharp at all apertures; fast accurate focusing

You have to be very close to your subject to achieve 1:1

Great Sharp Lens

I have a DX camera, D5100, so this lens is equivalent 90mm (with the 1.5x cropped sensor). Very sharp, quick focusing, not too heavy, amazing macro, great portraiture, and good landscapes (not really what this lens is made for, but you won't miss scenes if you only have this lens equipped.

Easy to use

The best macro lens I've used

"I personally feel that this is the best macro lens. Or I guess Micro lens as Nikon calls it. lol. The reason I love this lens is that it does more than just capture the inside of a frogs butt, it captures the fall off area surround the point of focus very beautifully.
