Fast good quality lens

Excellent snappy little lens, Accurate and quick focus, Good build quality and sharp images as you would expect from a prime lens, Background Blur is superb especially when used as a portrait lens, I\'ve used it for landscape at F11 and tack sharp. The price as well is VERY competitive.
Pros:

Amazing addition to the AW1 with FT1 adaptor !

This prime lens turned my AW1 into a beast. Sharpness, wonderfull low light caption and control over focusing via the manual focus ring. You just set and lock aperture at 22 on the aperture ring and the AW1 controls aperture via the FT1 mount.

Popular Focal Length

"I recomend this lens as a fist purchase for anyone making the jump from cropped to full frame photography. This is an FX lens so if you are rocking a cropped DX sensor then this is a great portrait lens although there are better DX portrait lenses for less money.

Excellent compact lens.

Small, compact lens with high resolving power. Excellent value compared to the other 50mm Nikon lens. The Special Edition get rid of the gold print and introduce a silver ring. Optical characteristics are exactly the same only the shell is changing.

Best at what you pay

the 50mm 1.8g is the best at what you pay. having that said bcz of the focal length, u get a very good bokeh, nd the construction makes the bokeh a lot smoother than the 1.8d. very good in low light, actually it looks better dan wat u see with ur naked eye. contrast is great.

Superb Replacement of the KIT lens

KIT lenses do not do the cameras that they come with justice. This is the equivalent of 75mm on a crop sensor if you aren't using a full frame camera. Fantastic for indoor shots/portraits of any kind.
Pros:
  • Fast auto focusing Excellent Bokeh Fantastic Image Quality
  • much better than KIT lens Great low light performance coupled with current generation Nikon cameras
Cons:
  • Twice the price of the equivalent Canon model
  • But I chose a Nikon camera for a reason, so that's ok

Excellent lens, everyone should own one!

Excellent sharp lens, I use this on my crop censor and my f80 film camera for all occasions but mainly street photography along side the 35mm 1.8g which I also highly recommend! This lens is sharper than the 1.4g across the whole frame save a few pounds and buy this you won't regret it!
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Fast
  • Improves Product Function
  • Lightweight
  • Sharp
Cons:
  • None
