I love this lens!

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: My passion is wildlife photography and in particular birds and birds in flight. I was looking for a setup that was light and nimble for walking long distance and times when I just wanted a smaller profile. The Nikon 300 f/4E PF pared with the Nikon D7200 does that and more.

The best lens I have ever owned.

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I do not think lenses can get any better than this one. Outstanding performer, razor sharp even with the TC-14E III 1.4x tele extender. The VR is also very efficient even with the extender.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens Review

★★★★★
Verdict: Chances are if you take a poll of what photographers picked for their first telephoto lens, it would be the 300mm. For one thing, it's a good choice for those starting out in wildlife or sports photography and, given the nature of millimeters, it's relatively inexpensive as compared to the big guns...

The BEST 300mm FX lens

Verdict: Exceptional lens - tack sharp focus and considerably lighter than other 300mm or similarly sized lenses. Hand-held works well. Great birding and landscape lens. Speed of order processing, shipping and delivery by Crutchfield second to none.
Pros:
  • size and weight
Cons:
  • None

Nikon Nikkor AF-S 300mm F4E PF ED VR

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I have to admit that I was hesitant about this lens at first. I had heard of some people having issues with the VR on their D800 and D810's. So, like most of my purchases, I rented this before I bought it. I shoot a Nikon D750 and this lens is an absolutely stellar piece of glass.

Lightweight Gem with VR

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: A lightweight 300 mm with VR and very good image quality. I'd say the build quality is very good as well. I dropped it once abut 3 feet onto ceramic tile and it wasn't fazed.First time I remember dropping a lens and hopefuly the last. Paired with the D500 its great for wildlife and birds.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR

Verdict: The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR ($,1999.95) is noticeably smaller and lighter than other prime lenses of this focal length that cover a full-frame sensor. A Phase Fresnel lens element-the PF in the the product name-makes this possible, without sacrificing sharpness, close focus capability,...

Nikon Nikkor AF-S 300mm F4E PF ED VR

★★★★★
Verdict: The compact Nikkor 300mm f/4 VR is ideal for sports and wildlife. Let's take a look at the pro lens that breaks all the rules. Pro spec primes are large, heavy and expensive – aren't they? In many cases they are all of the above, and then some.

Impressive so far

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: "I, like many others, have been waiting for this upgrade to the 300mm f4 for a long time. I have had it now for a couple of weeks and can give my first impressions. First, it is a lot smaller and lighter than the lens it replaces, thanks to the use of diffraction optics.

Well done Nikon

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Normally buy from Wex but on this occasion went elsewhere due to lower price, sorry Wex. This lens is one of the best buys I've made in some time, it is light, very light and small for a 300mm and yes I know its an f4 but for someone who used to lug a 300mm f2.8 about this lens is a revelation.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Lightweight
  • Quick Focus
  • Sharp Focus
Cons:
  • Weak Casing

Nikon AF-S 300MM F/4E PF ED VR Lens JAA342DA review

★★★★★
It's nice to see innovation hard at work, and the resulting reduction in size and weight is welcome for users who were tired of lugging around the 3+ lbs. 300mm ƒ/4 AF-S. If there are any shortcomings with the new PF version, it is that it is not capable of the tack-sharp results we've seen in other...

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Review

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR is a light and compact telephoto prime lens, but you pay a premium for its size.
The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR ($,1999.95) is noticeably smaller and lighter than other prime lenses of this focal length that cover a full-frame sensor. A Phase Fresnel lens element—the PF in the the product name—makes this possible, without sacrificing sharpness, close focus capability, or image stabilization. If you're a Nikon shooter in want of a telephoto prime it's certainly a good one to get, but you pay a premium when compared with larger, heavier 300mm f/4 lenses, like the $1,500 Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4D IF-ED and the $1,350 Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM. We think that the compact design and the stabilization system justify the cost, and image quality more than makes the lens worthy of Editors' Choice honors. If you prefer a zoom, the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary ($898.99 at Amazon) is still our top choice, but it's much larger and heavier than the Nikkor, and it doesn't capture as much light at any point in its focal range. Design and Featu...
