I have never owned an ultra-wide-angle lens before. This one intrigued me, especially because of the price. However, I own a D7100, and this lens isn't fully compatible with my camera. I read the comments on the Nikon USA forum, and decided to purchase the lens anyway.

I bought this lens like a couple of weeks back and have used it for Astro Photography and I am pretty much satisfied with this lens performance, It took really amazing pics. I am not sure how to focus to infinity would be been much better if they have that feature on the lens

After a two day rental, I sent it back and decided to buy one. It arrived today, two days later. With the rented lens I took dozens of sets of six images each...10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20mm...from fixed positions to see which focal lengths render the best composition.

This review is from a photographers point of view. We are very picky, 5 stars would be very hard to get. First let me say that for the price this is absolutely worth the money! It's a good lens that you can work with to take fantastic pictures. By design though, it is limited.

Haven't done much with it yet since I just got it, but for the extremely low price, so far so good. Not a heavy piece of glass at all, so doesn't add much to the bag as far as added weight. Quality of the photos seems reasonable for the cost.

Just got this lens today and mounted it on my D5200 and it worked perfectly. It is about the size and weight of a 18-55 kit lens. It delivers the wide angles and focuses very quickly without a sound. I took some pictures indoors and outside and am very happy with the image quality.
