A recyclable Nikkor -good thing, or bad

[...]. I still, now, would have preferred to have my much older, slower and bought secondhand original Nikkor.Optically, it is fine though comparisons with other lenses almost impossible as there's only two available and one simply doesn't buy a fisheye lens again.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Sharp Focus
Cons:
  • Recyclabe
  • Weak Casing

I bought this lens after looking at the 14mm and a few other options. I love this lens it gives you so many fun possibilities. I always carry it with me for just about a anything and everything use. The focus is fast the color and contrasts are good, super in low light.
Pros:
  • Nice view with tack sharpness and fast focus
Cons:
  • None that come to mind

Good introduction

"Just bought my D3000 few days ago and did not have the oppertunity to take the workshop prior to the Air Show this past weekend. Now I have a better understanding of my camera far beyond the manual. Thanks to the instructor in giving a great lesson and look forward in future classes.

Love it!

I use this lens for a very specific interior photography process and it performs to the highest standards that I expected. It has extremely consistent output and is a jewel to work with.

Great deal on a genuine Nikon lens.

What a great lens. it has been in production in it's current form since the mid 90's. my guess is that there has never been anything that needed to be changed about this lens. i've used it quite a bit now and it takes excellent photos.

Stadium and Starting Line Lens Requirement

Since the advent of the full frame FX sensor, the Nikon 16mm "fisheye" lens has been resurrected. The two photos below were taken with a Nikon D700 camera body. Resolution is excellent and depth of field is infinite, even at large apertures.

AMAZING!

Just returned from Crater Lake NP and Redwoods SP/NP. I used the lens with my D750 with great results! I highly recommend this lens for anyone who has thought about adding a fisheye lens to their repertoire.

After renting this lens last year to use during our annual beach vacation, I fell in love with it. As our trip approaches this year, I knew I wanted to take it with me again, but didn't feel that renting it every year would be the best financial decision.

Different but Good

Using this lens is a bit different than lenses without the aperture ring. However, once recognized, it adds some great artistic opportunities for those occasional photos intended to be different.
