Took this out for a good test run today to see how this great lens would work on some street shooting I was impressed. The bucket drummer was back lit on a street corner with sun light reflecting off every shiny surface it could tough light to say the least Nikon got it right here!
This lens is extremely sharp and has the ability to adjust the bokah ( the background blurriness) with a dial on the physical lens. On a digital frame it is over a 200mm range so I recommend using this lens outdoors. It is very solid in its build and has a build in lens hood.
Easy To Set Up; Easy To Use; Quality Construction
The Nikon 135mm f/2 is largely considered to be one of the best lenses on the market. Herealded as one of the best portrait lenses on the market, this lens is razor sharp and produces beautiful bokeh.
This has to be one of my favorite all time Nikkors and portrait lenses. The rendering and IQ of this lens is extremely beautiful and elegant. Really and amazing portrait lens even without the DC control. The defocus adds another dimension to this beautiful lens.
Light weight; compact telephot with great IQ; one of Nikons best
Slight CA at some apertures
The defocus control function of this lens creates the most appealing bokeh of any lens I know. To my knowledge, no other lens, aside from the Nikon 105mm f/2 DC lens, offers this function.
While I hope to create a full Nikon 135mm f/2D AF DC Lens, my first priority is to include results from this lens in the lens comparison tools available on the site. This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information and...
Nikon's DC-Nikkor family is only two lenses deep, comprising just this one and a 105mm f/2. A full-frame lens, this 135mm f/2 ($1,080, street) converts to about 200mm on a Nikon D80.
one of Nikon's jewel. Work in portraits? this is your lens then. the "DC" means it has the magic for bokeh control.. and the bokeh is as delicious as promised. The lens also has that sturdy nikon-classics build. Nikon should really update this lens.
Image quality; build quality
slow AF; old design
