The Nikon D90 became something of a pioneer in the digital SLR camera world when it made its debut in 2008. This DSLR camera was the first on the market with the ability to record videos, with recording capabilities of 720p high-definition video and monaural sound.

A nice step up!
This camera was a step up from the D60 and I can see the difference between the two. The D90 is a great camera for what I want to use it for. I do photo shoots for family and friends and with the D90 I can see the difference in the quality of the prints.

Satisfy with this
Nice camera, but ISO performance shots surprised me. Here, at TR, you can see a hint of noise at ISO200 and it gets worse at higher settings. DPreview shots are clear up to ISO800 and even ISO1600 looks good. Why so much difference? Faulty camera? Over all good

Nikon D90
In case you've been living under a rock over the last month or so, Nikon's new mid-range SLR, the D90, is kind of a big deal. "Why?", you might ask. The answer is because it's the first D-SLR that can record video footage.- First SLR to shoot video
- great noise control
- feature-rich
- brilliant screen
- Live View autofocus is still slow
- video footage suffers from wobbling and contrast issues
Nikon D90
A great combination of new features and the usual Nikon image and build quality.
Nikon D90 Review
The D90 represents is a brilliant upgrade on the D80, worries over dynamic range need addressing but this is a new Nikon certainly capable of stunning results. In terms of pricing, looking at the body only price, it also represents stunning value for money too.- Build and handling
- Superb image quality
- Ease of use
- Screen size
- AF performance (non-Live View)
- White Balance control
- EXPEED image processing and noise control
- HD movies
- Live View AF
- SD card port
- VR kit lens barrel and pincushion distortion
- Loss of shadow detail (dynamic range issues)
- SD cards held very tightly making safe removal awkward
Nikon D90
It was only a matter of time before one of the camera manufacturers figured out the Live View mode on a DSLR required a video image and then came up with some way to record it.
