Nikon D7100

The D7100 doesn't have built-in GPS and wireless networking, but these are available with the purchase of adapters. Nikon bodies offer no form of in-camera image stabilization, unlike similar models from Sony, Pentax and Olympus.

No anti-aliasing filter; 51-point autofocus system; Long battery life

Average low-light performance; Average continuous shooting speed

Excellent Quality

This DSLR has blown me away with its amazing capabilities and crisp frames. I took the plunge and switched from a different camera brand all together and it was completely worth it. Magnificent auto focus and battery life is great!

I bought this camera when a client requested images with pixel size greater than my D700 or D300S can deliver. I shoot primarily sports now and the D800 is a bit too slow as a sports camera (my D700 with grip and fast battery was just about perfect) and I can't quite afford the D4.

1) Great image quality; 2) Fast focus; 3) Price; 4) Size

1) Limited buffer -- bogs down when shooting fast, 2) Slow maximum continuous high speed shooting, 3) Speed is dependent on image quality setting, size and content that you are shooting; Varies pretty significantly

Amazing

Was jumping back and forth between this and the Canon 70D because my friend owns one and after some serious thought about what I would be using the camera for I came to the conclusion that the D7100 was the right one for me. The picture quality is outstanding in RAW format and JPEG.

Excellent photo quality Controls are easy to find and adjust Feels comfortable even when holding for extended periods of time Feels rugged and well protected

Liveview adjustments-I don't rely on Liveview adjustments and if you read online one of the biggest if not the only gripe about this camera is the lack of adjustments you can make during Liveview; That being said, I only use it to review my photos

Best Value for money for I paid when it was on sale!!!

I bought the Nikon D7100 because it was on sale at 815 AUD, and at that price, it was certainly a real bargain. I was also looking for a camera that was great in terms of image output qualities but also in Autofocus performance.

Great camera

Great camera. I have upgraded from the Nikon D40 and the D7100 certainly is an upgrade. Only had it for a few days, so still working through all the features, but so far so good. Easy to use with short cuts to ISO, white balance and image quality on the camera instead of going through the menu.

Lets set the record straight when it comes to the D5200/D5300 vs the D7100. The D5200 is a great entry level camera that takes great pictures. But if you are truly serious about becoming a better photographer then you best go with the D7100. The D5200 is VERY limited. Here are a few reasons why...

Excellent Camera! Superb performance!

I was really struggling between the full frame D600 and this camera. After trying out friend's D600 and D7100 for a week I found that outside of sensor size, the D7100 really beats out the D600 in everything except noise reduction, which is still amazing on the D7100.

Little complicated jump from the D3100

I purchased this after couple years using the D3100. The photos are light years ahead in detail and clearity. Alot more controls are on buttons and will be faster to use after I learn the function of them. Most were only available by the menus on the D3100.
