nikon D7100 DSLR, GREAT camera

I love this camera. I purchased it to shoot bird's and wildlife. It's fast and the auto focus is excellent. Sometimes I take pics of random items simply because I love to use it and I have no wildlife handy. I have absolutely no complaints yet and don't expect to have any.

I Am going to have a lot of fun with this Camera

This is what the Nikon D7000 should have been, but it is not, so no big deal! I Love that this has a 51 fAF Pionts System, and for the first eve on a Nikon DSLR, a Detection range of -2, for even better low light photography then the D7000 was, what was a -1.

Nikon D7100

Not that much different than the latest version D7200 but there is a significant price advantage. The camera is an excellent choice, especially for the mid-level user as it has all the features that are necessary for creating high grade photographs.

Larger / heavier than a typical point-and-shoot camera that doesn't have the capability to change lenses or the ability to shoot in more advanced modes; This one won't fit in your pocket but it's not made for that.

Excellent

I have been trying to replace my old D100 for the last couple of years. After the D400 failed to materialize, I jumped on a D600, which is the most magical camera I ever used. I returned the D600 after two weeks due to its oil/dust problems and decided to wait until Nikon either fixes the problem or...

For the experenced shooter

The D7100 nabs some of the best digital images using a new sensor that captures more information than other brands 24MP models. That smart sensor also soaks up more light, so you can get crisp shots all the way up to ISO6400. A 51-point autofocus system ensures even moving targets stay sharp.

Great camera and is an excellent balance between size of sensor, body weight results. I replace a D300 with the lighter D7100 a few years ago. It accepts all my old Nikon F film lenses, and I have collected a large number of lenses over the years (40).

Little complicated jump from the D3100

I purchased this after couple years using the D3100. The photos are light years ahead in detail and clearity. Alot more controls are on buttons and will be faster to use after I learn the function of them. Most were only available by the menus on the D3100.
