Nikon D7000
With the release of the D7000, Nikon created a new category in its broad DSLR line. The D7000 ($1799) offers a mid-range alternative to the higher end D300s, and the slightly-long-in-the-tooth but more affordable D90 (released in 2008).

Nikon D7000: DX Format, 16.2 MP, And HD Video
Another tip of the hat goes to Nikon for providing an instruction book, hefty tome though it is, as others have eschewed this course, opting instead for PDFing CD manuals, something you cannot easily consult when it's raining out and you really want to figure out how to do an auto bracket on the

Nikon D7000 camera
Here is a review of the Nikon D7000, which is the successor of the well known D90, and it is a mid range DSLR. Similar to its predecessor Nikon is going to charge a little bit more for this camera and in return but you won't be sorry to pay extra because you will get some super features.

Nikon D7000
Compared to the entry-level Nikon D3200, you'll get more manual controls and custom settings on the D7000 such as bracketing exposure, white balance and flash; built-in flash commander mode; and a Function button you can set to access your favorite controls fast.
Pros:
- Great image quality
- even in low light
- Dual memory-card slots
- Weather-sealed
- partly metal shell
Cons:
- Some blown highlights in tests
- Limited features in Live View
- Focusing noise shows up on movies
- Controls are awkward for some

The Nikon D7000 is a mid-size, digital single lens reflex (DSLR) still camera with a full high-definition video subsystem, bright viewfinder, one-button live view, full manual control, full auto operation if you choose, dual & configurable SD card slots, a built-in pop-up flash, weather resistant...
Pros:
- The Nikon D7000 is quite a camera
- Gorgeous 1920 x 1080 24fps video in either MOV or H.264 format, that is clean and slick
- Nikon jumped into professional quality video recording with the D3s and all of Nikon's considerable resources were brought to bear on making the technology, technical quality...
Cons:
- The early manufacturing runs of D7000 bodies had shooting mode dials which moved far too easily
- Nikon seems to have tightened up the dial tolerance sometime during 2011, so the dial on cameras in more recent shipments no longer moves so unexpectedly, or indeed any more than similar dials on...

Nikon D7000 review by andre_
the D7000 works perfectly, both as a backup for my D700 and alone with the long tele lenses. The viewfinder is virtually the same as the D2x, so it's the best possible for a DX camera. The dials are very well disposed, and the new controls for the AF mode works well too.
Pros:
- viewfinder
- sensor
- features
- command dials and controls
Cons:
- AF with wide lenses
- AF points disposition
