Excellent full frame DSLR at a good price.

Very good image quality and build with low noise at high ISO. Only negative is that the 39 focus points do not fully cover the image screen making it impossible to focus re the rule of thirds for instance. However it is not difficult to focus using the centre focus point and then recomposing.

Easy to use; Compact; Build quality; Battery life; Screen size

Love this camera!

Great high ISO performance, low noise through 6400 Beautiful Image quality good build quality Low light capabilities are wonderful compared to my Nikon D300. I was particularly happy with the 28-300 kit lens that came with the camera. The lens is sharp, focusses quickly and has great contrast.

Not too many; As others have mentioned depressing the release button on the mode dial can be a bit awkward, but really not too bad; The flash synch speed is only 1/200 th rather than the usual 1/250th top shutter speed of 1/4000th rather than 1/8000th

Nikon D610 Review

The Nikon D610 offers the same professional image quality that you'd find in a camera many times its price. For that reason alone, it's an excellent choice for those who need professional-quality images, but aren't quite ready to splurge on the more expensive options out there.

A good price puts professional image quality in reach for budget-conscious shooters

Battery life is below average

Nikon D610 Review

Specs wise, the D610 isn't as eye-popping as some of its full-frame counterparts, but don't let that deter you from this DSLR that shoots excellent stills and videos.

Superior full-frame stills; Quality Full HD videos; Good feel and response

Expensive; heavy – but totally expected; Specs not world-class; Onboard mono mic

This is an excellent camera, arguably offering more bang-for-your-buck than any other full-frame DSLR. It doesn't have the image resolution of the D800, but it has more manageable file sizes, a faster shooting speed and two custom user modes.

The Nikon D610 is their most affordable and compact full-frame (FX-format) camera. Both image quality and overall performance are excellent, and the video capabilities outperform most dSLRs on the market. Read more in our Full Conclusion .

iAuto shooting mode is accurate and easy in all situations; Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record; Overall performance is incredibly fast; Amazing image quality at lower ISO settings; Higher ISO settings do produce a lot of noise; but are all good for each setting when compare to...

Not really a new camera model; more of a fix for the D600 issues; Highest ISO settings are over the top with image noise; Fixed screen; not movable to help in awkward shooting situations; No built-in WiFi

Nikon D610 review

If you scour the internet you will find a series of complaints about some Nikon D600 owners experiencing issues with oil on the camera's sensor. It's not an issue we had with our camera, but the sudden arrival of the D610, with only a modest bump in features, suggests that it's a solution to brush...

Excellent image quality; small and light for a full-frame camera; weather-sealed; fair price for full-frame DSLR body

AF point coverage is too centralised; little is new compared to D600; default JPEG processing can be a touch harsh

Nikon D610 digital SLR camera

The D610 has a compact size that belies the full-frame sensor it houses within. It's sturdy and comfortable to hold, and it packs the traditional controls and functions you're already used to if you're a Nikon user.

Full-frame sensor; Great low-light performance; Feels comfortable to use

Screen doesn't have a hinge; Some slight chromatic aberration

Barely different but still brilliant, this replaces the D600 as our Best Buy full-frame SLR
