Nikon D5600 review: A mild update

The D5600 is Nikon's latest consumer-oriented SLR, designed for people who are serious about photography but who aren't necessarily aspiring professionals. Features such as a 39-point autofocus system, articulated touchscreen, built-in Wi-Fi and microphone socket differentiate it from the...

Outstanding image quality; Sophisticated autofocus; Long battery life

Some functions are awkward to access; Slow shot-to-shot times in live view mode

Nikon D5600

Lightweight and compact with everything the family photographer needs, the Nikon D5600 maintains its position as a great general-purpose dSLR for its price class.

The Nikon D5600 delivers excellent photo quality for its price class; as well as performance that can keep up with your kids and pets

It may be too small for people with larger hands and it turns off the self-timer after every shot in single-shot mode

Great first camera

Bought this for my daughter for her first professional camera, she has it out everyday. I am amazed how clear the pics are and how easy it was for her to use. It is a sturdy and good quality product. Considering we bought over the holidays, the Harvey team were exceptional. Thanks Harvey :)

Nikon D5600 review

As an upgrade to the D5500, the D5600 is a touch underwhelming - just like the D3400 update to the D3300, the changes are modest at best, while the SnapBridge technology featured still needs to be refined and become more stable.

Excellent image quality; Comfy handgrip; Decent AF system; Touchscreen interface

SnapBridge needs work; Only 1080p video; Pricey compared to rivals

Smartphone cameras are amazing, for what they are. So are many of the compact digital cameras, especially the super-zooms from Canon and Nikon. But I grew up when film was "it", and I missed the versatility and expandability of single-lens reflexes.

Nice Camera, sharp images, March Sale - good value

Only had a month, have not explored all the features. So far nice sharp images even in poor light. Good Value. Lighter weight than I expected and a little smaller than my previous Sony Alpha DSLR. Closeup auto focusing is a little funky.

Nikon D5600 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens D5600 review

The lure of the Nikon D5600 DSLR is that it is an affordable, entry-level route into interchangeable lens photography, for those whose heads are not immediately turned by the latest desirable mirrorless model.

Built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; Angle adjustable touch-screen LCD; Optional external microphone can be added to improve sound quality; Massive range of directly compatible lenses and accessories
