For a long time the top slot in Nikon's APS-C (DX) format DSLR line-up was occupied by the popular D300S , but that camera dates from 2009 and production ceased ages ago, leaving a vacancy that Nikon photographers have been wanting to see filled for years.
The D500 is a great camera with sharp images and lots of features-also lots of great reviews. The one that Digital Direct sent me was a bit of a dud--lots of noise when this low noise is supposed to be one of its features.
Fantastic DX camera super pic. Quality best camera for wildlife photography. Design and build quality also superb Snapbridge feature is so nice. Within seconds we can transfer our clicks in Mobile phone
"This is an outstanding pro level camera for both video and stills. You will not be disappointed."

Menu system lacks touch support; No high-framerate video mode; A bit heavy
With a fast burst speed, quick autofocus, impressive image quality and a solid design, the Nikon D500 is a solid contender, especially for sports, events and wildlife. The biggest downfall is that the video autofocus doesn't reach the same impressive level as when shooting with the optical...
Fast 10 fps burst; Quick; accurate autofocus; Solid image quality; Weather-sealed body with tilting LCD
Slow video autofocus; Heavy; No pop-up flash
