Nikon D3400

Nikon D3400 is an entry-level DSLR camera and has been described as an ideal camera to enter the wonderful world of DSLR photography. What makes it such a good entry-level camera, and can it step up to more demanding tasks?

Easy To Use

One of the big reasons why the Nikon D3400 is highly regarded as an entry level DSLR camera is its simplicity. It is very easy to use, giving the photographer every opportunity to concentrate on framing a shot, or capturing a random moment, without having to worry about setting it up.

A Camera To Grow With

Photography skills develop over time, and the D3400 has enough features and settings to keep pace with a photographer's growing demands and technical skill. In other words, it goes beyond its entry-level status and won't need to be replaced in a hurry. It's an ideal camera to grow with.

Great For Junior

As an entry-level camera of some renown, the Nikon D3400 is a good option for younger photographers. Not only is it easy to use, but it is lightweight, making it easy for children to carry around with them for a long period of time. It is compact as well, a great feature for smaller hands.

The Numbers

The D3400 offers 24.2-megapixels, and a 3-inch screen with 170 degrees viewing angle. Full HD 1080p video promises good quality footage.

Keep On Snapping

Charge it up, then get snapping, and snapping, and snapping! The Nikon D3400 has a reputation for huge battery life, a great asset when you're capturing the beauty of nature miles away from the nearest power source.

Best Buy and Great Pictures

This is an exceptional camera for the cost. I am still learning all of it's features, but find that even an inexperienced photographer can take great pictures with the D3400. I highly recommend going onto Nikon's web site and view some of the tutorial videos as they have given me a good start in...

Great features to make picture taking easy

Heard through the internet that the Smart Bridge technology wouldn't work with an IPhone; Still need to check this out; I don't think it is that important

Great camera, lightweight, many features.

Great camera, lightweight, many features. I upgraded from a D5000 and the only complaint about this camera is that it doesn't have a rotating view screen. That was helpful for taking selfies. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the camera.

So glad I bought this camera

I am a true amateur when it comes to photography but I love taking pictures. This is my first camera with interchangeable lens'. I absolutely love the quality of the pictures I've taken so far. I love the different options. I do plan to take an online class offered by Nikon to learn more.

Replacing the 3300 this camera offers extended battery time to its predecessor in addition to snap-bridge technology, only bluetooth no wifi which means you get to download a 2MB (or original 11MB if you want but that takes a while) version of your shots immediately to your smartphone, lack of wifi...

Nikon D3400 review: A fantastic budget DSLR

Digital SLR is a relatively mature technology, so finding something new and exciting to put into entry-level models isn't easy. It's debatable whether Nikon has risen to this challenge with the D3400.

Class-leading image and video quality; Solid performance; Competitive price

Controls are relatively basic; Bluetooth transfers could be more reliable

The packaging was done very well. The camera accessories and functionality was great. I have never owned a camera but am getting ready for a trip and wanted something more than my iphone to capture memories. The user manual was easy helpful. Two downsides.

Easy to use

I bought it as a gift for my partner; the buy and collect was super easy at broadway. The camera is our first DSLR and the quality of the photos is just fantastic. The i phone does not compare.
